The Executive in Residence and Instructor of Practice will serve as a lecturer in courses within the college, participate in the college strategic planning process and strategically aid the Dean in developing significant partnerships within the greater Nashville community. As Instructor of Practice, this role will serve as a teacher, guide and mentor to students focusing on leadership in complex public roles. This role is expected have to a strong "practice element" in the approach to educating students. As Executive in Residence, one will not only contribute to the classroom experience, but also participate in the strategic planning of the college and support that strategy through community engagement by building partnerships and serving as "ambassador" of the College of Leadership and Public Service to Nashville. Residence should also be committed to the vision of Lipscomb University as a private, Christian

The responsibilities of the Leader in Residence will include:
1) Serving as an instructor of practice to graduate and undergraduate students through guest teaching, mentoring and providing insight within established courses.
2) Serving on the Dean's strategy team as the team develops 3 and 5 year plans to expand
the influence of the College and support the development of partners to secure funding
to support the strategic plan.
3) Working with the Dean and other members of the team to bring in potential partners in the work of the College.
4) Facilitating and supporting CEO Connect.
5) Working with the President to advise on strategy and develop partnerships.

Desired Experience and Skills:
The Leader in Residence will:
* Demonstrate significant expertise in the practice of Public Service and Leadership.
* Exhibit the ability and interest in creating a more refined direction for the College.
* Demonstrate the ability to creatively connect with leaders throughout Nashville and Tennessee.
* Demonstrate the ability to create a dynamic "practice oriented" interaction with
students.
* Communicate the vision of the dynamic opportunity of the College of Leadership and Public Service and Lipscomb.
