Desktop Engineer I

How You Will Make an Impact:



  • Desktop Standardization and the Refresh/Rollout of new desktop equipment
  • Work with the Engineering team to research and develop desktop hardware solutions for deployment, including desktops, laptops, and thin clients.
  • Printer Management -- manage updates and configuration/security for network deployed printers through centralized printer management solutions.
  • Creates and maintains operating system images for desktops, laptops, tablets and handheld devices including emerging technologies.
  • Creates, manages and maintains computer objects in Active Directory.
  • Performs analysis and implements software vendor and operating system upgrades and patches within the operating system image.
  • Develops and runs enterprise reports for KPI collection using Enterprise Desktop Management solution.
  • Functions as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for project needs and the needs of the end user. Translates those needs into documentation and actionable items to deliver the required solution.
  • Provides Tier I-II support to end users, Service Desk and Desktop Support teams providing both resolution and root cause analysis.
  • Mentors Service Desk and Desktop Support teams.
  • Design, document and implement best practice processes to deliver consistent automated operating systems and applications.
  • Proactively tracks and analyzes the performance of the devices, identifies device problem areas, and delivers solutions to enhance the quality of service for the end users.
  • Assists in Bank software license reconciliation on a recurring basis.
  • Demonstrates competence in prioritizing user issues and resolving within Bank defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Maintains an ever-increasing level of proficiency in hardware, software, networking and other technologies related to the IT department.
  • Demonstrates the ability to manage time and resources in the best interest of the Bank.
  • Identifies opportunities to see where training needs would improve productivity within the department or within the Bank
  • Participates in on-call and provides end user support during off hours, holidays and weekends.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with management, co-workers and end users.


Who You Are:



  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent minimum of 1 full year of experience in field with equivalent Enterprise Desktop Management software solutions
  • Experience with Microsoft Deployment Toolkit is preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Operating Systems required.
  • Regular and reliable attendance
  • Works cooperatively with others
