Build the future, spark innovation and align your career with purpose.

McKinstry is innovating the waste and climate harm out of the built environment and creating lasting impact. Together, we're building a thriving planet.

Buildings are a leading contributor to the climate crisis, generating nearly 40% of total global energy-related carbon emissions. We're making a lasting impact on our industry and within our communities by addressing the climate, affordability and equity crises through:

  • renewables and energy services
  • engineering and design
  • construction and facility services

To get where we're going, we need big thinkers, problem solvers and collaborative mindsets. Does that sound like you?

The Opportunity with McKinstry

We are currently seeking a National Building Performance Standard (BPS) Program Manager to support the national expansion of our BPS work across our growing Technical Services line of business. McKinstry supports clients and their facilities throughout the life of a building; the Technical Service team specifically focuses on the optimization and energy efficiency of existing buildings with a uniquely technical consultative approach. We work directly with owners to help them make effective decisions that improve the efficiency, comfort for occupants and lifespan of their buildings.

This role will specifically support Building Performance Standards across the country such as Washington's CBPS, NYC's Local Law 91, and Energize Denver, and will be responsible for building upon our existing programs, defining processes and acting as a key Subject Matter Expert supporting our growing client engagements.

There are 4 main areas of focus:

  • Track BPS programs across National key McKinstry markets
  • Subject Matter Expert for McKinstry sales and operations teams on relevant BPS programs in their markets
  • Support internal teams on go-to-market strategies for BPS programs
  • Develop cross regional tools and best practices to support the growth of BPS related work

BPS Subject Matter Expertise

In this role, you will focus on BPS programs across the country, tracking developments and progress in each, and helping to identify where these present market opportunities for McKinstry. For BPS programs identified as a high priority, you will also become an SME on those programs, and work with the relevant McKinstry regional teams to build a go-to-market plan informed by lessons learned cross-regionally. Communication and collaboration are a large part of this role, as you will be supporting a variety of projects and teams in multiple regions.

If you are passionate about driving sustainability in the built environment and want to make an impact with your technical expertise, this #climatejob may be the one for you. We are excited to hear from you in the hopes to bring you on not only as a steward of McKinstry but an invaluable member of our team.

Develop Best Practices and Tools

BPS program compliance is often staggered over multiple years, especially for portfolio owners with a variety of building types/sizes. It is important for the internal tracking, and for clear client support and expectation setting, to have tools in place to effectively manage and communicate these requirements and key decision gates over time. This role will be tasked with developing tools and best practices that can be implemented across multiple regions and a variety of BPS programs to help deliver a true "One McKinstry" approach for clients.

Responsibilities

  • Help to identify which BPS programs are relevant and strategic across McKinstry's markets and track the evolution of these requirements over time.
  • Become a go-to SME for McKinstry sales and operations teams on relevant BPS programs in their markets. While local regions will develop additional expertise, this role is meant to be able to look across the various programs and compare/contrast requirements, strategies, etc.
  • Work with local teams across McKinstry to help them integrate BPS programs into their go-to-market strategies, pulling in lessons learned from other regions while recognizing that program requirements, local market conditions and regional team strengths may require flexible strategies for maximum success.
  • Identify patterns and needs across the regions for tools/processes/communication strategies and take the lead on developing solutions that can work across multiple programs to help create a coherent McKinstry BPS implementation across clients and regions.

What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry:
