Meet the Team

As a Component Demand Planner, you will be a member of the Component Demand Planning team working with a range of people across the Business Unit, Finance, Global Planning, Central Material & Fulfillment, Product Operations, and Global Supplier Management internally in Supply Chain. You will interact closely with the Global Supplier Management & Product Operations team to create effective component forecasts and transition plans. Supply Chain Operations are located across the US, Europe, and Asia, providing an opportunity to collaborate with a global team. Your counterparts, leaders and teammates will all consider you a strategic professional with strong ability to collaborate with partners at various levels in the organization and with a strong ability to influence and persuade stakeholders for new initiatives.

Your Impact

We are looking for a knowledgeable and highly analytical supply chain professional who has a strong background in forecasting/demand planning - with a solid understanding of how to combine information from Product Operations, Finance, Global Supplier Management, Marketing and sophisticated analytics to build the best possible forecast. As a Component Demand Planner, you will play a significant role in translating the product forecast into the component level and explaining how that impacts our supply chain partners and improving the value of the extended demand signal that will drive strategic sourcing, network design, and roadmap decisions. Ideally, you are a self-motivated person, looking forward to enhancing and developing new processes. You encourage continuous change and are energized by it.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Develop and enable extended demand plans to support transition forecasting, strategic inventory purchases, and E&O estimates.
  • Drive an exceptional component Demand Plan by collaborating cross-functionally with the Demand Planning community, Product Operations, Finance, BU Marketing, and Global Supplier Management teams.
  • Develop E&O Mitigation Plans and support partners in strategic commodity buy.
  • Prepare and lead demand handoffs to help partners understand the demand signal changes at the component level.
  • Feel comfortable working with vague or incomplete data by utilizing & documenting assumptions and thought process.
  • Understand how to analyze and plan based on portfolio strategies, corporate plans, competition, price sensitivities/ strategies, geo-political changes, compliance and regulations.
  • Develop the demand signal and demand signal buffers applying above information combined with exceptional analytics and predictive modeling i.e. time series, causal and judgmental methods (scenario building, forecasting by analogy etc.)
  • Develop & standardize new processes and tools to support planning initiatives, often in ambiguous conditions and without direct guidance.
  • Effectively communicate component level forecasts and supporting details to individuals at multiple levels of the organization.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree; Extensive experience can compensate for formal education.
  • 5+ years of Supply chain experience (Cisco or Industry), preferably in Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP), Integrated Business Planning (IBP) or Demand Planning.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with planning processes, knowledge of inventory management, product life-cycle management, sourcing, supply chain financials, and/ or supply chain modeling experience.
  • Master's degree is preferred.
