Job Summary:

The Pilot Training Coordinator is responsible for the oversight and scheduling of Pilot related training. This position will work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure that the training of pilots is done in a cost-effective manner and in accordance with all applicable rules, regulations, and policies.

Essential Functions:



  • Responsible for the scheduling of all pilot training (excluding ground training) system wide to include, simulator training (new hires, upgrades, return to work pilots, new instructors, and recurrent), Initial Operating Experience, and FAA observations
  • Manage irregular operations in coordination with other internal departments relating to training activity. Such as simulator malfunctions, instructor / student sick calls, student's incompletion of lessons, weather or mechanical disruptions. Reschedule students in the most cost-effective manner while keeping student's progress and continuity of training at the fore front of their decisions
  • Create monthly instructor schedules adhering to pilot's collective bargaining agreement, FARs, instructor preferences, and company policies
  • Exercise judgement on adding simulator and instructor resources to ensure all required training events are completed in an efficient manner
  • Publish open training events to maintain training schedules and award requests based on pilot's collective bargaining agreement
  • Develop monthly training bid package to be published to pilot group
  • Award monthly training assignments by seniority and collective bargaining agreement
  • Oversee instructor monthly pay, including processing instructor pay to Payroll, investigate and resolve any discrepancies brought forward by instructors to ensure they are paid accurately
  • Ensure flight training events and assignments adhere to FAA regulations, Company policies, and the collective bargaining agreement
  • Communicate with instructors, students, FAA, and other internal departments to facilitate pilot training
  • Perform on call duties during non-business hours
  • Administer any out of base training and coordination of students and instructors travel accommodations
  • Any other duties assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS



  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office


PREFERRED SKILLS



  • Experience working in a scheduling environment
  • Previous airline experience
  • Data Entry experience


WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones photocopiers, filing cabinets.
