Position Highlights:

  • Position:EMS Instructor
  • Location:Float among the NorthShore Legacy facilities and EMS departments
  • Part-time: 20 hours per week
  • Hours:day shift
  • Required Travel:Yes

What you will need:

  • License:Registered Nurse or Paramedic License
  • Education:Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (preferred), Currently licensed in the State of Illinois. EMT-B/EMT-P preferred.
  • Certification:BLS
  • Experience:Diverse experience in Emergency Department and Critical Care Nursing and/or Firefighter/Paramedic experience.
  • Skills: ACLS/TNS/PALS/ECRN/BTLS/Teaching Experience preferred. Ability to lecture on a wide variety of topics to pre-hospital providers and hospital staff.

What you will do:

  • Per Illinois Department of Public Health EMS requirements, the resource hospital must provide continuing education to EMT-B/EMT-P, ECRN, and Emergency Dispatcher personnel.
  • Coordinates, teaches and evaluates EMT classes according to DOT curriculum, IDPH Rules and Regulations and HPH EMS System protocol and policies.
  • Reviews curriculum for all programs on an annual basis, updates courses and exams as appropriate.
