DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Cook 1, you will prepare menu items such as soups, stews, gravies, casseroles, entrees, vegetables, and desserts as directed. Your duties will include transferring food product containers from the storage area, freezer, and walk-in refrigerators to the preparation areas, as well as placing food items into and out of ovens. In this position, you will serve prepared menu items, either through a service line or individually waiting on tables. While standing and participating in the food serving line, you will ensure plates, bowls, trays, and pans are relocated accordingly to maintain adequate supplies for serving. You can expect to carry trays and hot plates with meals to the dining area when serving special guests or dignitaries at the academy. Additionally, you will clean the kitchen, dining rooms, dish rooms, storage areas, and any other related areas. Interested in learning more? - Full-time employment
- Work hours are determined from rotating shifts, including weekends.
- Free parking!
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $37,555.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Desirable Preparation for Work:
- Experience in cooking or quantity food preparation; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training.
Additional Requirements:
- You must possess a minimum of 1 year experience preparing and serving food.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Experience in a commercial kitchen
