Overview

Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Senior Engineer to support the Department of Defense in the definition and implementation of spaced based radars, missile interceptors, and directed energy technologies. This is a hands-on role to support and develop next-generation concepts and build our strategic defense capabilities.

As a Senior Engineer for Missiles and Space with AMERICAN SYSTEMS you will:

    Develop and coordinate concepts and requirements for the application of current and emerging missile defense and space technologies as they apply across the DoD.
  • Conduct technology research analysis for future warfighting construct.
  • Develop and refine Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) pertinent to mission needs and technical capabilities.
  • Provide policy guidance, and coordination for OUSD Research and Engineering (R&E) programs in the Military Services and Defense Agencies on all relevant science and technology matters as identified by the National Defense Strategy.
  • Assist and prepare presentations and reports to DoD leadership and outside DoD.
  • Assist, prepare and conduct meetings for Principal Directors Office.
  • Track the department-wide budget for efforts aligning with technologies.
  • Provide programmatic expertise to the Government from system concept definition through technology transfer activities.
  • Represent OUSD R&E Principal Director on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and participate in Government-approved conferences and forums in addition to specific USD R&E projects.


Qualifications

  • TS/SCI Clearance
  • Master's degree in STEM
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in engineering, missiles and space, or Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E).
  • Previous experience in engineering, analysis of alternatives, integration, requirements, and testing
  • Excellent writing, communication and briefing skills.


Pay Transparency Statement

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $155,700.00/Yr. - USD $260,000.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
