The Accounting Manager is a key position in driving the organization's success. They are responsible for the leading, directing, and developing our quality assessment and performance improvement and risk management programs, which contributes to the overall success of both Telecare and those we serve. Our clinical staff are a key element in ensuring we are providing high quality care to those we serve. The Accounting Manager is responsible for setting the strategic development and implementation for quality and risk management, ensuring our workforce are equipped to deliver on our promise of delivering excellence to those most in need. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE The ideal candidate for the Accounting Manager role is someone that is a strong complement to the Telecare culture and exhibits behaviors that demonstrate alignment with Telecare's values. We define operational excellence in 4 key areas: Shifts Available: Full Time | 8:30 am - 5:00 pm | Monday - Friday Expected starting wage range is around $125k - $154k annually. Telecare applies geographic differentials to its pay ranges. The pay range assigned to this role will be based on the geographic location from which the role is performed. Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience above the minimum requirements. - Clinical Quality and Risk Management Excellence. Demonstrating consistency in care by ensuring staff are well trained, prepared for their work, able to deliver excellent care and respond to the needs of our clients that maximizes clinical outcomes while reducing adverse events within the programs. - Workforce Engagement. Being able to maintain low turnover and have staff that stay and grow with the organization are key measures of success. - Customer Satisfaction. Our customers are important. The Accounting Manager needs to be able to regularly interact with customers and ensure awareness of Telecare's commitment to delivering high quality care and minimizing unintended outcomes. - Financial Security. POSITION SUMMARY The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the monthly accounting close cycle and financial reporting of Telecare Corporation. This role will provide guidance and supervision to the Sr Accountants. QUALIFICATIONS Required: * Bachelor's degree * Active CPA License * Ten (10) years of progressive experience, including increasing responsibilities in accounting, or six (6) years of public accounting experience o Experience should include supporting annual financial statement audits, with detailed knowledge of preparation of financial statements, including footnotes disclosures * Four (4) or more years of supervisory experience in accounting, or two (2)+ years of supervisory experience in public accounting * Demonstrated knowledge and familiarity with GAAP basis accounting principles, including ASC 842 and ASC 606 * Demonstrated organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to move issues forward to resolution * Ability to work and communicate effectively with cross-functional departments, including FP&A, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Revenue Cycle * Proficiency with Excel * Applicant must be fingerprinted and receive clearance from the U.S. Department of Justice and The Office of Inspector General * Must be at least 18 years of age. * All opportunities at Telecare are contingent upon successful completion and receipt of acceptable results of the applicable post-offer physical examination, 2-step PPD test for tuberculosis, acceptable criminal background clearances, excluded party sanctions, and degree or license verification. If the position requires driving, a valid driver's license, a motor vehicle clearance, and proof of auto insurance is required at time of employment and must be maintained throughout employment. Additional regulatory, contractual, or local requirements may apply. Preferred: * Experience in healthcare industry * Experience with Lawson ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * Demonstrates the Telecare mission, purpose, values and beliefs in everyday language and contact with the internal and external stakeholders. * Makes use of management practices that include empowerment of staff, the provision of clear and concise expectations regarding duties assigned employees, frequent feedback focusing on both positive and problematic aspects of work performance and other management practices that are consistent with Continuous Quality Improvement * Promotes and maintains professional and effective relationships and communications within the department and with other departments. * Plans, organizes, directs and monitors the monthly close of the general ledger and maintenance of subledger accounts * Provides leadership support and technical oversight of financial data, ensuring accurate and timely financial information for stakeholders * Ensures department's compliance with internal controls * Stays abreast of changes in GAAP basis of accounting for potential impact/adoption * Supports annual audit and tax filing requirements, including preparation of supporting schedules * Reviews month-end reconciliations for accuracy and addresses variances accordingly * Analyzes opportunities for automation, reconciliation and streamlining workflow * Actively participates with Controller and Assistant Controller to provide feedback for improving overall processes * Assists with special projects and ad hoc reporting * Supervises as assigned, the Sr Accountant and Accountant including, coaching, performance management, performance review, hiring and termination Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted and/or changed at the discretion of management. SKILLS * Excellent verbal and written communication * Critical thinking to aid decision making and attention to detail * Ability to adapt to changing business needs and flexibility in work management * Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to move issues forward to resolution * Ability to train, coach, and provide disciplinary action * Proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft suites products PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is constantly required to sit and occasionally required to stand, walk, reach, twist, bend, pull, and lift and carry items weighing 10 pounds or less as well as to do simple grasping occasionally. The position requires manual deviation, repetition, and dexterity. Visual requirements include computers and books exposure.
