Overview

Project Manager, is responsible for managing difficult and complex specialized transportation

projects. This includes the responsibility of ensuring that projects are completed in accordance with approved scopes, on schedule, and within budget. The incumbent has project responsibility throughout the entire project life cycle and collaborates with the Project Development Team to develop project scope, cost estimates, schedules, and clear work plans necessary for successful project delivery.


Responsibilities

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Develops comprehensive transportation project management plans including risk management, communication plans, project charters, quality assurance plans, and stakeholder analyses along with resource-loaded work plans by negotiating agreements with all participating project team members to ensure projects are completed within strict deadlines and in an efficient manner. Monitors and analyzes actual support costs against planned costs and forecasts future costs to complete the projects. Ensures that projects scheduling are in accordance with or in advance of the programming documents.
  • Manages the Project Delivery Team through the project life-cycle. Builds strong internal partnerships to establish a productive working relationship and structure for assigned projects delivery. Builds and expands existing external partnerships to effectively coordinate all ongoing efforts that may impact assigned projects. Represents the company at meetings with clients and project stakeholders.
  • Monitors and updates project scopes, schedules, and costs, both in terms of support and capital costs. Ensure adequate resources are available for the projects and that any project changes are managed and communicated effectively and proactively. Reports timely and accurate project status information to Management on a regular basis to ensure all staff involved with the projects are properly informed.
  • Manages Quality of work products. Mentors staff in the preparation of project Plans, Specifications, and Estimates (PS&E) and provides Quality Check and Quality Assurance of PS&E packages. Provides guidance to staff related to the proper use of design standards, policies, procedures and practices to develop a high-quality project.

Qualifications

  • 10 or more years in a project team leadership role managing transportation projects with experience in utility, roadway design, bridge structures, design and construction.
  • BS Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Experience should include staff management, budget control, mentoring and resource management.
  • Successful track record of working with internal/external project sponsors and stakeholders.
  • Project experience on highways and/or bridges, municipal, land development, stormwater and/or infrastructure design and construction

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
