LEAD SERVER ASSISTANT
Reports to: Restaurant Manager, position is Non-Exempt
THE ROLE
The Lead Server Assistant reports to the Food and Beverage Managers. Lead Server Assistant responsibilities include but not limited to bringing food to our customer in a timely matter. They will also be in charge of cleaning the table and making sure guests needs are meet. is responsible for ensuring smooth restaurant operations by overseeing support staff, including bussers, server assistants, and barbacks. This position requires strong organizational skills, efficiency, and teamwork to maintain a clean and well-prepared dining environment. This position will interact with everyone in the hotel so you must have strong and adaptable interpersonal skills, meaning you can get along with anyone. Another key need for this role is their ability to organize and be strategic when food items are being brought to the customers.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Maintain service training standards throughout the various support positions
- Train new support team members on restaurant procedures and standards
- Clean, set and re-set tables continuously, assuming responsibility for station, tables and side duties
- Support management with completing opening and closing side work as assigned and have all tables set according to standard
- Present menus and explanations for all menu items as well as specials of the day
- Assist with food running, ensuring accuracy and proper presentation
- Monitor dining room cleanliness and stock service stations
- Utilize the hotel's computer system ringing up sales, printing checks, closing checks and completing closing readings
- Carry trays, bus and reset tables with linen, china, glass and silver
- Ascertain a guest's satisfaction and handle any problem which may arise informing a manager of the problem and how it was resolved
- Recognize and address potential intoxicated, disruptive or undesirable guests
- Stock linen, china, silver and glassware for service
- Keep accurate control of guest checks, credit vouchers, currency and posting procedures
- Record all guest charges, gratuities and cash transactions accurately
- Monitor guest needs, such as refilling water and assisting with special requests
- Set up orders on trays and tables and transport them to guest floors and rooms
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness in the restaurant, including floors and common areas
- Communicate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely service
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
- Must have a high school education or equivalent experience
- Fluency in English both verbally and non-verbally
- Minimum of 2 years of food and beverage experience
- Able to work alone without direct supervision
- Demonstrate high degree of drive and determination
- Constantly recommend service and product improvement to better the operation
- Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel
- Ability to roll and/or carry tables and chairs
- Ability to lift over 35lbs when carrying food trays to the customers
- Standing and walking is continuous for 4-5 hours at a time

Base Hourly Rate $18.81 ($22 - $35) plus tips - associates will participate in a whole house tip pool where tips are shared with hourly associates that contribute to the guest experience.
