The division of Maternal Fetal Medicine in the department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School seeks a dynamic and accomplished Maternal Fetal Medicine (
MFM) specialist to join our academic team as an Assistant Professor. In this unique role, you will serve as the Interim Director of our
ACGME-accredited
MFM Fellowship Program. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the clinical, educational, and research missions of the division while providing high-quality, patient-centered care for high-risk pregnancies. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with faculty, fellows, residents, and students while participating in clinical care, teaching, and scholarly activities This position is ideal for a clinician-educator and researcher committed to excellence in maternal fetal medicine, dedicated to advancing clinical care, research, and education within a collaborative academic environment. |

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
MD, DO, or equivalent degree. Board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology and subspecialty certification in Maternal-Fetal Medicine by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (
ABOG). Must be eligible for medical licensure in NJ. Strong clinical skills and expertise in high-risk obstetrics, ultrasound, and invasive procedures. Demonstrated commitment to education and mentorship. Interest or experience in clinical research and scholarly activity. The following qualifications are preferred: experience in an academic medical center, prior involvement in quality improvement initiatives and track record of research publications and grant funding. Leadership experience in clinical, educational, or research initiatives. |

Overview |
Clinical Operations & Patient Care:
1.Provide high-quality, evidence-based, and patient-centered perinatal care, including high-risk pregnancy consultations, fetal therapy, and prenatal diagnosis at academic hub in New Brunswick as well as at off-site contracted ambulatory practice locations
2.Conduct inpatient and outpatient maternal-fetal medicine consultations.
3.Build and expand maternal-fetal medicine clinical practice, including outreach programs and telemedicine initiatives.
4.Collaborate with general obstetricians, neonatologists, and other specialists to enhance multidisciplinary perinatal care.
5.Participate in and contribute to quality measures, patient safety, patient experience and outcomes programs for the sub-specialty and department.
Education & Training:
1.As Interim Fellowship Director, provide oversight and mentorship for
MFM fellows, residents, and medical students.
2.Direct, support and enhance the
MFM fellowship program, ensuring a robust curriculum and compliance with
ACGME accreditation standards.
3.Provide hands-on training in ultrasound, prenatal diagnosis, and high-risk pregnancy management.
4.Deliver lectures and lead educational conferences on
MFM-related topics.
5.Contribute to medical school teaching and educational initiatives, including lectures, workshops, and simulation training.
Research & Scholarly Activity:
1.Actively engage in clinical, translational, and basic science research within the division.
2.Foster collaboration on research initiatives between the division, department, and institutional research centers.
3.Encourage trainees to participate in scholarly activities, including publications and national presentations.
Administrative & Leadership Responsibilities:
1.Participate in departmental and institutional committees as assigned.
2.Contribute to program development and strategic planning for the division.
3.Assist with accreditation and compliance efforts related to maternal-fetal medicine programs.
4.Represent the division at national and regional conferences. |
