Summary
Sr Insights Manager The Company is one of North America's leading sales and marketing agencies specializing in outsourced sales, merchandising, category management and marketing services to manufacturers, suppliers and producers of food products and consumer packaged goods. The Company services a variety of trade channels including grocery, mass merchandise, specialty, convenience, drug, dollar, club, hardware, consumer electronics and home centers. We bridge the gap between manufacturers and retailers, providing consumers access to the best products available in the marketplace today. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities Provides ATV with relevant, actionable and customized brand, category and product solution analysis based on overseas best practices applied to ATV's business. Provides ATV with relevant, actionable and customized insights based on retailer best practices across multiple areas including merchandising, operations, supply chain, category management and product development. Engages with ATV and DTV to understand strategies and objectives. Prioritizes tasks with a focus on strategic versus tactical activities that deliver stronger ROI. Deliver a range of formal, deep dive category reviews, product innovation proposals and ad hoc reports on an agreed to timeline, that include industry and trend analyses. Utilizes a broad range of data metrics, tools, market intelligence and analytics to identify opportunities and deliver insights to ATV. Be a recognized leader in the knowledge of research tools. Accesses relevant information from a range of sources, interpret results and draw conclusions to support the business case for each project and make tailored observations and recommendations based on data. Develops creative presentations with an eye toward story-telling, focused on flow, visualizations, headlines, data and consumer insights. Supervisory Responsibilities Direct Reports - This position does not have supervisory responsibilities for direct reports Indirect Reports - Does not have direct reports, but may delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports Travel and/or Driving Requirements - Ability to travel to Japan or overseas as needed. Minimum Qualifications Education Level: (Required): Bachelor's Degree Field of Study/Area of Experience: 5 years+ of working experience with a focus on category management, product development, business analytics and /or consumer research Experience working in the Discount Retail Channel in a corporate or store operations role Significant experience working with a wide range of syndicated and non-syndicated data resources & demonstrated ability to provide insights from data Proficiency with Nielsen and Homescan data platforms preferred, with IRI capabilities a bonus Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Understanding and application of principles and practices of Category Management (analysis of assortment, pricing, promotion, merchandising, shopper) required Extensive grocery retailer acumen, with knowledge of best in class retailers across a variety of categories and channels Strong presentation building skills, with ability to craft thoughtful and insightful business cases Excellent PowerPoint building skills as well as advanced computer skills (Excel, Outlook, Teams) Ability to work effectively and collaboratively, as part of a team; Good communication and interpersonal skills Well-organized and detailed oriented Ability to multi-task, set priorities, work independently Proven creative thinking / problem-solving skills Think and act strategically as well as tactically in the performance of the job Act proactively, positively and constructively, self-starter Comfortable with exposure to senior management Strong global/intercultural fluency skills: the desire and ability to comprehend and adapt to different cultural situations and perspectives, being receptive to foreign languages and open to different ways of thinking. Environmental & Physical Requirements Office / Sedentary Requirements: Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically, requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may require the ability to lift up to 10lbs.
