Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Construction Intern to join our team in Summer 2025 at Halsey, Oregon! We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Construction Intern to join our team.

Our Team

The Georgia-Pacific Project & Engineering teamwork within our facilities to deliver projects, solutions, technology platforms, and asset strategies that enable our manufacturing capability. The Regional and Program team's focus is on regional approaches to develop and deliver Programs/Projects. We believe that everyone should be an entrepreneur no matter what role they are in. What You Will Do

  • Review and understand the scope of work and all aspects of construction for each specific project.
  • Assist project teams with checkout, start-up, and punch list activities for their respective projects.
  • Participate in reviews of cost, schedule, change management and risk for projects and actively challenge when appropriate. Ensure these areas are up-to-date, transparent, and utilize tools to drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvements through data analysis.
  • Support the development and implementation of data-driven solutions to optimize engineering processes.
  • Conduct research and provide recommendations based on data insights.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to project planning and execution.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Enrolled in a degree or alternative program (e.g., 2-year technical college program, certificate program, upskilling program, etc.).
  • Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship.
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Construction, Engineering or a related field.
  • Ability to relocate per program requirements.
  • Experience validating and reviewing existing estimates and schedules.
  • Experience working on construction projects from start to finish.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Previous internship or project experience in an engineering, operations, and/or construction environment.
  • Enrolled in a Building Science, Construction Management, Engineering or related Engineering degree program.
  • Experience using Micrsoft Project.
