We're looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to join our ever-evolving Enterprise Transaction Processing (ETP) Platform team to help us unleash the potential of every business.

About the position

As a Sr. Systems Engineer on the ETP Platform team you will combine advanced systems engineering skills with development expertise to support and enhance our core transaction processing applications. This will involve maintaining and integrating third party solutions to enhance system capabilities, managing the deployment of hardware security modules, developing core versions of software applications, identifying client requirements and technical specifications, and working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions that meet business objectives. You will perform support activities required to maintain a high level of availability and stability for our applications, including incident/problem analysis and resolution, change deployment and certification, application performance, application operations management and development support.

About the team

The Enterprise Transaction Processing (ETP) team is responsible for the authorization and settlement of transactions for merchants across the United States and Canada. ETP consists of three sub teams - Authorization, Settlement, and Platform. The Platform team delivers solutions across a wide range of technologies, supporting Authorization, Settlement and other applications throughout the enterprise. We work closely with the Line of Business, Compliance, vendors, and other teams inside the company to deliver products which are fast, reliable, and meet our customers' needs.

What you'll own

  • Install, configure, and maintain third-party applications to ensure they meet business requirements and operate efficiently.

  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, applications, processes, and procedures.

  • Participate in software development tasks, including coding, testing, and debugging, to support system integration and automation.

  • Deploy, configure, and manage Hardware Security Modules (HSMs).

  • Participate in 24x7 on-call shift responsibilities for a mission critical transaction processing environment.

  • Execute tasks related to ensuring compliance with industry regulations and corporate policies, including audits and reporting.

  • Other related duties assigned as needed.

What you bring

  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Science or other related discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 7+ years of relevant on the job experience in software systems, DevOps, Information Systems or other related discipline, not including internships.

  • Requires in-depth knowledge of networking, computing platform, storage, database, security, middleware, network and systems management, and related infrastructure technologies and practices.

  • Ability to quickly grasp high-level business goals, derive requirements, and translate them into effective technical solutions.

  • Must be customer focused, well organized, self-motivated and self-directed.

  • Software development experience with object oriented and structured programming languages.

  • Experience with DevOps tools and practices, including automation and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

  • Knowledge of multiple operating systems and related utilities and hardware including IBM mainframe z/OS and x86 Linux.

A bonus if you have experience with

  • Developing in an online, multi-threaded, transaction processing environment.

  • Developing and deploying applications on IBM z/OS.

  • Software development in Java and IBM High Level Assembler.

  • Designing and building RESTful APIs.

  • Agile development methodologies.

  • Security products such as Ingenico OnGuard, Voltage SecureData Payments, and Verifone VTP.

  • PCI DSS, PCI PIN, and PCI P2PE compliance regulations.

  • Cryptography and key management standards, algorithms, and tools.
