GENERAL SUMMARY: Responsible for receiving freight, shipping items out on the dock and delivering packages and supplies to the offices and care areas in the facility. Responsible for reading supply areas, picking items from central supply and stocking those items in the patient care areas. PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 1. *Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values. 2. *Uses proper body mechanics in lifting, pushing and pulling for personal safety. 3. Prepares packages for shipment. 4. Maintains all shipping/receiving documentation. 5. Ensures work area is neat and clean prior to end of shift. 6. *Inspects incoming shipments for accuracy and damages; notifies Manager of errors or need for follow-up. 7. *Logs receiving information into the computer. 8. Operates equipment according to manufacturers' specifications. 9. *Sorts, prepares and distributes supplies, incoming packages and mail to ordering departments. 10. *Places supplies in designated locations. 11. Notifies Manager or appropriate personnel of equipment problems and needed repairs. 12. Routinely accesses locked storage areas (where drugs, IV solutions and contrast media are also stored) to obtain or stock supplies as pertinent to essential job functions in accordance with Medical Center procedures. 13. *Monitors stock rotation, organization and expiration dates of floor inventory to ensure standardization and compliance with Federal and State regulatory agencies. 14. *Utilizes inventory computer system to maintain accurate par level profiles and inventory counts; resolves inventory discrepancies. 15. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise. 16. Participates in meetings, committees and department projects as assigned. 17. Performs other related projects and duties as assigned. (Essential Job functions are marked with an asterisk "*". Knowledge of computer hardware equipment and software applications relevant to work functions. 2. Knowledge of general inventory principles, processes and procedures. 3. Skill in the use of computer handhelds, wireless technology and standard communication devices. 4. Skill in the use of warehouse and work-related equipment. 5. Ability to practice proper body mechanics to ensure personal and customer/patient safety. 6. Ability to input receiving information into a computer accurately. 7. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. 8. Ability to perform crucial conversations with desired outcomes. 9. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of personnel and medical staff. 10. Ability to problem solve and engage independent critical thinking skills. 11. Ability to maintain confidentiality relevant to sensitive information. 12. Ability to prioritize work demands and work with minimal supervision. 13. Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalency required. |
