What you will do
The primary function of this position is to support the Fire function for BSNA. This includes delivery process, customer satisfaction, maximizing operational efficiencies, controlling costs within the markets, and meeting all corporate financial goals. This position will work closely with project engineering, project management, order entry, installation, and installation support individuals.

How you will do it

Sales Support: Train, coordinate and support sales teams to analyze customer requirements and contractual obligations, resolving best solution possible for Johnson Controls, Inc.

Fiscal Responsibility: Drive high quality delivery at the lowest possible cost. Train operational teams on how to operate within an approved financial plan, which includes direct costs, indirect costs, accounts receivable and profitability.

Operational Responsibility: Support improvement initiatives associated with the submittal process, engineering, technical support, installation schematics, equipment delivery, outside purchasing, scheduling, labor planning and business issues, such as, bonds, insurance, and approvals. Collaborate with the service business to constantly improve upon attach rates.

Installation Activity: Support regions on managing installation improvements and obstacles including purchasing, project scheduling, fiscal responsibility, subcontractor management (in accordance with company policy). Supporting technical installation support team activity including centralized programming, new product launches, training development. Selective jobsite visits in support of local markets and or as part of audit activities.

Efficiency Improvement: Ensure that effective performance measurements are assigned, and employees are motivated to achieve and exceed objectives in a professional, timely and quality manner. Coordinate with and support the sales teams to better serve our Local Markets, grow the business and increase the sales Region and Market sales volume.

Personnel Management: Empower, organize, and develop local installation management teams into cohesive, effective, trained, and motivated teams, focused on growing the business. Responsible for supporting the hiring process, providing interview assistance when requested and/or where targeted. Develop market individuals in areas such as sales skills, business/product knowledge, customer service, and where training and development can enhance the district's abilities to meet current and future business needs. Maintain an open channel of communications among all Market General Managers to ensure consistent dialogue, develop initiative, and maintain morale.

Safety Compliance: Ensure that all employees comply with corporate safety programs and that employee safety training is complete and up to date.

When directed, perform workplace accident investigations per company's EH&S policy. Identify safety issues and hazards and advise the corporate safety officer of conditions that require corrective action.

Legal Compliance: Abide by Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, as well as all Company policies and procedures.

What we look for
Preferred:

  • Minimum (5) five years' experience in management of district operation activities and fire sprinkler industry experience.

  • Electronic Fire Alarm, Sprinkler Systems, Suppression and Security Operations Leadership experience preferred.

  • Previous P&L management experience a plus.

  • Associate degree, preferably in a business or engineering discipline.

Required:

  • Ability to read and comprehend financial statements.

  • Ability to read and negotiate terms for standard construction contracts.

  • Previous P&L management experience a plus.

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Strong people skills, along with effective writing, speaking and presentation skills.

  • Demonstrated management/leadership abilities to include training, team building, presentation and negotiation skills, branch administration and effective interaction with customer/company management.

  • Knowledge of National code and related requirements.

  • Proficient with MS Office as well as JCI online systems.
