*This is a remote position based in the Northeast United States*
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Durable Medical Equipment Program Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of durable medical equipment services according to Equipment Program guidelines and SOPs. This includes collaborating with the home office on program development, implementation, monitoring, tracking, data collection and following action plans to achieve program deliverables and communication to all stakeholders. Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
  • Assist with management of the process for referrals and obtaining all necessary patient, medical, demographic information, and documents from referral sources via various communication methods to establish and coordinate equipment needs.
  • Work with the DME and Assistive Technology/AAC Specialists to identify and meet the needs of people with ALS
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Association territory staff, home office staff, vendors
  • Develop positive, progressive relationships with clinic center staff by maintaining ongoing communication
  • Work closely with local/regional/nationwide durable medical equipment vendors in implementation of the Nationwide Equipment Program
  • Function as durable medical and complex rehab equipment expert for local Care Services staff and/or partner clinics
  • Assist with various workgroups relating to the Nationwide Equipment Program. Provide direction, education, and support to all stakeholders on the Nationwide Equipment Program
  • Assist Resource & Referral team with identifying specific resources available for pertinent territory.
  • Proactively recommend revisions to program as indicated by information received, strategic initiatives and required deliverables
  • Collaborate with management to review and revise all durable medical equipment related relationship agreements
  • Assist Managing Director/Director, Care Services to maintain comprehensive, accurate data on Equipment Program in all data platforms
  • Develop and coordinate the continued overview/assessment of utilization of Equipment Program
  • Conducts regular inventory control evaluations/assessments at equipment program locations and with partners
  • Documents interactions and activity related to the Equipment Program in inventory management database and ensures Care Services staff follows standard operating procedures related to the program
  • Assist Managing Director/Director, Care Services as assigned
  • Ability to travel as required or requested

QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education + experience; Assistive Technology Professional (ATP), Occupational Therapist (OT), or Physical Therapist (PT) certification/licensure helpful
  • Knowledge of and experience with durable medical and complex rehab equipment required
  • Knowledge of and experience with assistive technology preferred
  • Possess knowledge of the durable medical equipment and complex rehab as it relates to the progression specific to individuals living with ALS and knowledge of the types and variety of equipment available to those individuals served
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in a database system
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Salesforce and database experience a plus
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision; must be a self-starter
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Must be able to travel across the territory
  • Ability to work nights and/or some weekends as required

  • While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
  • Additional remarks regarding work environment: Ability to drive locally and travel nationally on Association business as required. Ability to work occasional evenings and/or weekends for Association business and events
  • Specialized equipment, machines, or vehicles used: Use of Association or personal vehicles, durable medical equipment and or assistive technology

PAY TRANSPARENCY:

The ALS Association's pay range for this positionis $69,293 - $90,078 annually.

The ALS Association has compensation ranges for various work locations throughout the United States, allowing us to compensate employees competitively and consistently in diverse geographic markets. The above-listed listed range shows prospective compensation for this role; the appropriate range will be established by what is eventually determined to be the candidate's primary work location. Various factors, including the complexity and significance of the role, job duties/requirements, relevant experience and abilities, and primary work location, determine individual compensation. Compensation ranges are evaluated and typically adjusted on a regular basis. Offers are made within the compensation range that is in effect at the time of the job offer.

The Association may, at its discretion, offer merit-based increases tied to individual performance. The benefits listed may differ depending on employment status with the Association.
