Therefore, employees who work a full 12-hour shift will be paid their base rate for 8 hours AND overtime (1.5) for hours up to 12.Department: 772000 Respiratory TherapyExpectations: Responsible for the delivery of Respiratory Care to NICU inpatients and outpatients requiring licensed practitioner skill levels to intervene in complex patient care situations. Participates in quality management activities and department/multidisciplinary committees. Assists with clinical based research projects related to defining/monitoring the delivery of respiratory care, to include data collection. Performing work in accordance with physician orders. Defined duties are performed for the neonatal, pediatric, and adult patient populations. Functional breakdown of responsibilities: Patient Care Duties (85%); Continuing Education (5%); Performance Improvement (5%); Professional Development (3%); Evaluator/Mentorship (2%). This position may require flexibility of hours. This position requires the ability to take on-call for patients requiring emergency procedures and intra and out of hospital transports.EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school by the National Board of Respiratory Care. EXPERIENCE/TRAINING: Two years' experience as a NICU RCP preferred for applicable Age Specific patient population: neonatal. Work experience that promotes group/team working relationships required. Computer proficient and experience in Health Information Systems required. LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: Required: Current unrestricted Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) issued by Respiratory Care Board of California Current Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) issued by National Board for Respiratory Care Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) issued by National Board for Respiratory Care Current Basic Life Support Provider (BLS) issued by American Heart Association Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification Preferred: Current Neonatal/Pediatric Specialty (NPS) Certification Current active member of American Association of Respiratory Care (AARC) SKILLS: Competency/knowledge for clinical decisions and interactions relative to the neonatal patient. Works with patients, family members, physicians, nursing, and all other members of the healthcare team. Must maintain annual skill requirements. Demonstrates flexibility when faced with a fast-paced and changing work environment. Works collaboratively with patient care team. Effective communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
