Primary Function:The purpose of this position is to assess, develop, review and implement all day-to-day operational activities associated with the talent acquisition, pre-employment and Human Resources exit management functions of NCC. This position will ensure that recruitment and onboarding activities are implemented in accordance with NCC policies and procedures, using a data-driven approach with a focus on setting metrics that support NCC's strategic plan. This role will develop guidelines for recruiting and retaining the faculty and staff best suited for addressing the current and future needs of NCC. Responsibilities: Partner with hiring managers to support them in the full recruiting and onboarding cycle. Develop procedures and strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the College's talent acquisition, on-boarding processes and off-boarding processes. 1) Collaborate with leaders to develop, implement and evaluate recruitment and marketing strategies to attract and retain a well-qualified and diverse workforce for all categories and levels of positions. 2) Develop and regularly monitor HR metrics to increase the effectiveness of the hiring process. 3) Ensure a positive experience for applicants by using clear, concise and welcoming communications throughout the application, offer and on-boarding processes. 4) Ensure compliance and appropriate application of employment-related laws, regulations, college policies and college procedures throughout the recruitment and hiring process. 5) Guide new hires and managers through the onboarding process, and ensure managers implement the new-hire onboarding checklist. 6) Use Workday to manage requisitions, candidate screening, selection and hiring processes. 7) Use online recruiting resources such as niche job boards, associations, LinkedIn and other related sources to attract and identify top candidates. 8) Screen candidates and review resumes for suitability based on experience and position requirements. 9) Participate in selection processes, administer exit Interviews with departing employees and consolidate feedback to identify trends to address. Organizational Relationships: (1) Responsible to the Chief Human Resources Officer for performance of assigned responsibilities; (2) Works cooperatively with hiring managers in all departments of the college and particularly with the offices of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Information Technology, Finance and the Academic Schools and Deans. Performance Standards: Performance in this position is considered satisfactory when: (1) mutually agreed upon objectives and goals are met within a specified time frame; (2) responsibilities of the position have been carried out at a level consistent with performance objectives; (3) effective cooperative relationships exist with all institutional departments of staff and other members of college administration. Qualifications: (1) Education: Bachelor's degree from a Councilfor HigherEducation Accreditation (CHEA) approved Institutional Accreditor college in the field of Human Resources or related discipline. (2) Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: Excellent planning, organizing, communication and collaboration skills. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage at all levels of the organization. Knowledge and experience with applicable employment laws that relate to the talent acquisition process. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to use Excel for data analysis. Experience with leveraging technology for talent processes. Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality. (3) Experience: Minimum of 3 years recruiting experience, preferably in a higher education setting. Experience with Workday preferred. SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP or HRCI Certification preferred. |
