Overview

The Return to Work Coordinator coordinates and administers all aspects of ADA accommodations, pregnancy accommodations, and return to work through transitional or temporary/restricted duty assignments as related to non-occupational and occupational injuries. This person develops and implements processes and procedures in compliance with related rules and regulations including the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Pregnant Worker Fairness Act (PWFA), and alignment with Presbyterian policies and federal, state and local laws and regulations, focusing on managing individuals with disabilities through the employment life cycle, integrating leave management as appropriate.

Qualifications

    Bachelors degree, preferably in Human Resources or Business
  • HR Certification preferred
  • 3 years of experience with ADA, leaves, and return-to-work programs.
  • Will consider experience in lieu of education, with 6 or more years of experience in this role.
  • Clear, concise verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills with all levels of employees and external partners.
  • Ability to listen and apply appropriate critical thinking and attention.
  • Ability to interpret and comply with federal, state and local laws and regulations.
  • Ability to work under general supervision and make responsible decisions.
  • Ability to use good judgement and think quickly and rationally in difficult or stressful situations.
  • Ability to render credible testimony.
  • Ability to present information and conduct training for small and large groups.
  • Ability to prepare factual reports with a strong attention to detail.
  • This position is located in Albuquerque, NM.


Responsibilities

  • Represent Presbyterian Healthcare Services in the interactive process of employee and applicant accommodation under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Pregnant Worker Fairness Act (PWFA).
  • Facilitate determinations on accommodations, working with departments, HR Employee Relations partners, leaders, and employee to implement.
  • Oversee return-to-work process for employees who have non-occupational or occupational injuries, who can return to work with restrictions.
  • Manage administration and processes of ADA or Workers Compensation reassignment program and ensure proper documentation. Review by EEO Officer if termination is required.
  • Review leave extension requests exceeding FML and MLOA policy
  • Run monthly and ad hoc reports
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records.
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) by consulting, advising, administering and providing training to departments, leaders, staff, and those in need of accommodations, return to work restrictions, temporary or transitional assignments.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for and manage all ADA, PWFA and return-to-work inquiries, educating employees, and managers on the process and related policies.
  • Guide, mitigate, and resolve standard and complex job accommodation and return-to-work scenarios.
  • Respond to related complaints and inquiries, investigate and write responses to complaints of disability discrimination working with the Executive Director and EEO Officer.
  • Coordinate with Benefits, FML/MLOA Leave Team, Employee Health, Short Term Disability, Workers Compensation Administrator, Legal, Risk, as well as the HR Employee Relations partners.
  • Other duties as required by role.
