What's involved in this role:

The Document Specialist is trained to effectively and safely carry out the duties/tasks of each position within production. This position will conduct all hands-on and classroom training for new hires and make ups.

  • Day Shift: 7a-7p, 2-2-3 schedule
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate, schedule, and track all trainings including make-ups.

  • Rotate learning in each area of the facility to gain familiarity with all machines and positions.

  • Obtains and/or develops effective training materials utilizing a variety of media.

  • Develop tracking processes for training documentation.

  • Lead training meetings and sessions.

  • Track all training in a timely fashion, keeping this information organized and continuously up to date.

  • Ensure shift trainers are properly training new employees in the job/position and are trained through the facility training program - both hands on training and classroom training.

  • Promote a safe work environment in the facility; help improve overall safety on all shifts through proper training of SOPs.

  • Manage and organize plant documents throughout their lifecycle (creation, revisions, and archiving).

Other Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain flexible schedule (shifts) to address situations as they arise.

  • Read, understand and adhere to documents and procedures (SOPs, SDS, GMP, OPL, CIL etc.), demonstrating full proficiency.

  • Understand and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices.

  • Safety Protocol

    • Stop any observed unsafe acts and obey facility safety rules and procedures.

    • Correct or report any observed safety hazards.

    • Support safety policies and programs.

Education Required:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.

Experience Required:

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience with similar functions preferred.

  • Production work-related experience preferred.

  • Document management experience preferred.

  • Training employees in a factory and/or classroom setting required.

  • Creating and implementing SOPs, processes, and procedures required.

Certification/Licensure Required:

  • None

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment.

  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with managers and colleagues.

  • Display sensitivity to different cultures.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.

  • Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to management and coworkers.

  • Basic computer skills with Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word, and Outlook.

  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).

  • Exhibit a professional manner in collaborating with others and works to maintain constructive working relationships.
