The Industrial & Systems Engineer I supports large scale distribution center initiatives typically related to cost reduction and productivity improvements. Implement and support capital and process improvement initiatives within the facility, region or network and support DC Operations as needed. Perform operational and transportation analysis, continuous process improvements, warehouse management system configuration as well as facility and capacity planning. Conduct design, config, test warehouse management system and train teammates on new workflows.

• Pay rate: $75,000 to $85,000 per year.
• This role is also eligible to participate in the annual incentive plan with a target incentive of 10% of your base annual salary.

Essential Job Functions/Principal Accountabilities:

• Support multiple division operations and special projects.
• Align Standard Operating Procedures with Corporate Engineering.
• Coordinates cross team dependencies and collaborates between various groups to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues on a daily basis
• Propose changes to operating procedures to improve quality or programs, accuracy and efficiency.
• Partner with division operations to reinforce consistent process execution and identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Assess and optimize processes and equipment within the facility and region to support business needs.
• Implement and support McLane's warehouse slotting optimization systems.
• Perform ad hoc data analysis on key business functions.
• Manage medium scale material handling projects from start to finish.
• Develop efficient layouts, workstations, and material handling systems for new and existing facilities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering preferred, other applicable degrees with accompanying experience will be considered.
• Experience with Manhattan WMS or JDA/Red Prairie WMS.
• Experience within distribution facility layout, racking layout and design (preferred).
• Understanding of distribution center operations to include receiving, selection, replenishment, routing and dispatch.
• Solid oral and written communication skills with ability to advocate for and present recommendations to leadership.
• Ability to function in a fast-paced office and warehouse environment in a professional manner.
• Strong Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Project.
• Understanding of Statistical Analysis and Operations Research a plus.
• Self-starter with an ability to communicate and interact with multiple cross-functional levels of the organization.

Working Conditions:

• Remote, office, and warehouse environment.
• This position is expected to travel up to 75%.
