JOB SUMMARY:

The Director, Global Commercial Pipeline Strategy at BioCryst Pharmaceuticals will have experience in commercial strategic planning, cross-functional management, and business operations in a pharmaceutical setting and will work closely with cross-functional teams across the commercial and development organizations in leading and influencing to achieve business objectives. This role is responsible for the developing of commercial strategies for BioCryst's growing portfolio of pipeline products for rare disease and serious medical conditions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Serve as commercial strategy lead within the program leadership teams (PLTs) during the development of pipeline products.
  • Provide commercial insight and strategic direction to guide indication selection, target product profiles, clinical trial design, and competitive positioning during the development process.
  • Partner with colleagues including regional marketing, global business analysis, market access, and medical affairs, to develop product positioning, message platforms, and market development strategies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders and customers to uncover opportunities that could enhance disease awareness and brand strategy and performance.
  • Develop early product commercialization framework to define activities required for long-term success of pipeline products
  • Organizes and executes effective presentations of consistently high quality to senior management on the activities/status of projects, information/status updates and milestone presentations.
  • All other duties as assigned.



EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Bachelor's degree in business or science; graduate level training preferred (MD, PhD, PharmD, MBA) with 8+ years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry in commercial, medical, market access, analytics, or development or equivalent experience/education combination
  • Knowledge and experience with commercial strategic planning and product commercialization, preferably in rare disease environments.
  • Very strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and written skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects in a cross functional team environment.
  • Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams comprised of technical professionals (internal and external).
  • Demonstrated understanding of key disciplines in cross-functional pharmaceutical commercialization such as commercial, medical, operations, regulatory, and supply chain.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Proficiency in managing multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Ability to apply good business judgment to critically assess and prioritize issues.
  • Travel up to 25% required.
