JOB PURPOSE:

The Sourcing Coordinator will be the liaison for cross functional teams in the execution of the different phases of the product (part) life cycle to support Midco's strategic initiatives. You will help the organization achieve its goals through finding sourcing solutions for products at the ideal cost and quality. You will also find yourself analyzing data in your pursuit to identify potential areas for improvement for the organization.

KEY FUNCTIONS:



  • Manage data throughout the part life cycle to include item creation, attributes, and end of life planning and execution.
  • Monitor item data integrity within various procurement and supply chain systems and escalate issues when appropriate.
  • Works with vendors and internal team members to qualify new products (parts).
  • Coordinate vendor, RFQ and RFI process, in support of the procurement strategy and business goals.
  • Collaborate with the purchasing team and other internal stakeholders to conduct thorough RFPs and provide analysis on vendor submittals.
  • Pull data to support the evaluation process of vendor performance.
  • Partner with leadership to preform benchmark analysis to identify potential cost gaps and risk across commodities.
  • Align strategy and tactical plans on product transitions with Operations, Finance, and Safety.
  • Assist with the communication to stakeholders on introduction, modification, or discontinuation of products including transition of part numbers, the use of inventory and ordering expectations.
  • Assist leadership with oversite of project tasks to support completion of initiatives through clear communication of expectations and escalating issues to leadership when they arise.
  • Provide data and analysis to support re-negotiations of business and/or service agreements.
  • Follow and serve as a role model in displaying Midco's Core Values and Leadership Success Drivers.
  • Adhere to Midco's privacy guidelines to ensure each customer's privacy.
  • Maintain regular attendance as required by your position.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:



  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field or equivalent experience required.
  • 2 years minimum purchasing or supply chain experience required.
  • Advance knowledge of Microsoft Excel required.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of parts management methodology. Strong understanding of Microsoft ERP preferred.
  • Six Sigma/ Lean certification or exposure to these methodologies preferred.
  • Telecommunications experience preferred.


WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:



  • The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • The noise level in the work environment is quiet.
  • Required to periodically travel to other Midcontinent locations, supplier locations, and trade and industry shows.
  • Employees may be required to work in excess of 40 hours per week and other than normal business hours, such as holidays, evenings and weekends as business demands.
