Overview
USU Extension & 4-H in Carbon County is seeking a passionate and motivated individual to assist in coordinating youth STEM outreach events.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with staff, faculty, and community stakeholders to deliver engaging, high-quality STEM experiences for local youth. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate planning and implementation of STEM outreach events, including 4-H STEM day camp
  • Assist in advertising STEM events
  • Develop outreach project for Carbon County Fair
  • Facilitate the formation of a STEM Ambassador program


Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma required
  • Previous experience working with youth and/or youth-serving programs
  • Ability to work with diverse and underserved audiences
  • Self-motivated and able to complete a variety of tasks without direct supervision and observe deadlines
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Must be able to work effectively with volunteers and local stakeholders
  • Some flexibility in work schedule required for occasional evening or weekend events
  • Offer contingent upon successful completion of background check

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associates degree or higher desired
  • At least one year's experience working with youth programs
  • Background or interest in STEM field, particularly engineering/electronics
  • Experience implementing STEM education curricula
  • Ability to write standard reports
