The UCF College of Community Innovation and Education (CCIE) brings together academic programs, centers and institutes focused on building stronger communities and elevating the human experience. The Opportunity:

UCF's College of Community Innovation and Education Office of Graduate Affairs is currently accepting applications for an Academic Support Coordinator II. We are looking for a motivated and dedicated individual to join our team! If you are someone who thrives in a dynamic, student-centered environment and wants to make a direct impact on student success, this is the perfect opportunity for you! This position coordinates the student support activities (e.g. advising, admission, and retention) related to all CCIE graduate students, faculty and programs. As the Academic Support Coordinator II, you will also certify graduating CCIE students every semester, advising students on graduate policy, procedures, and practices throughout enrollment.

Responsibilities:


  • Advises prospective and admitted CCIE students on graduate policies, procedures, and provides/interprets information relative to all CCIE graduate programs.

  • Processes, updates, and maintains GPS degree audits for graduate students to include evaluation of transcripts, processing of course substitutions/petitions, and updating academic records to include input of state test scores.

  • Manages the certificate, master's, EdS, and doctoral graduation responsibilities as assigned for the College, including degree certification and registration of dissertation hours.

  • Assists with and delivers presentations at student orientations and advises and participates at student-related functions for the Office of Graduate Affairs.

  • Interacts with departments regarding graduate and doctoral comprehensive exams, course registration information, candidacy, doctoral committee assignments, and thesis/dissertation defenses.

  • Coaches staff in the graduate student services processes and interacts with CCIE graduate faculty, program coordinators, college staff, and the College of Graduate Studies.

  • Ensures that graduate students are properly informed of degree requirements, policies, and academic standing; processes initial programs of study, including transcripts and record-keeping.

  • Manages the graduate student application processing functions for the College, including advising students on their admissibility according to faculty and university protocols.


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or a Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Master's degree preferred.

  • Experience in academic advising/counseling in higher education.

  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and problem-solving skills.

  • Effective organizational skills and proven attention to detail with the ability to interpret and explain policies to students, faculty, and staff.

  • High level of comfort with technology including demonstrated experience in working with databases.

  • Highly motivated individual who is well organized, conscientious, and flexible with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
