What's the job?

The Lead Sample Shop Coordinator will assist the manager with overseeing the daily operations of the Sample Shop, ensuring production and warehousing meet quality standards, safety protocols, and key performance metrics. As the Lead, you will guide and support the Sample Shop team, helping to ensure that sample production goals are met while maintaining a focus on customer service and continuous improvement. You will be responsible for daily production/fulfillment oversight, optimizing departmental efficiency, training team members, and assisting the manager, as needed. Flexibility to assist in plant production as needed is required.

Safety



  • Follows all safety rules and policies
  • Ensures activity is in accordance with organizational and departmental rules and policies
  • Continuously evaluates workplace for safety concerns and ensures behavioral safety initiatives are performed to goal levels
  • Performs monthly safety audits and monitors department's monthly safety objectives


Production Processes and 5S



  • Accurately process customer's orders in efficient manner, including picking/boxing orders for small package shipments
  • Process samples using panel saw, shrink tunnel, shrink wrapper. Complete assigned, required daily tasks
  • Maintains multiple sample product inventories accurately
  • Maintain satisfactory 5S and identifies gaps and areas for improvement


Leadership



  • Manage the daily activities of the Sample Shop, including general oversight of sample production and order fulfillment to ensure daily goals are met
  • Trains operators on required process and equipment operation utilizing SOPs and completing the required documentation
  • Reports performance against standards and schedule during daily meetings
  • Guide and coach team members as well as collaborate across departments based on departmental needs

  • High School Diploma is required
  • Skilled in the basic use of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and OneDrive
  • Strong Organizational skills
  • Time Management skills
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness
  • Willing and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Forklift experience, or willing to be trained
  • Must work well independently and as part of a team
  • Previous work experience in manufacturing/office environment preferred
  • Previous Lead position experience preferred
  • Advanced computer skills: Microsoft Office and SAP, or ability to learn new platforms preferred
  • Effective communication skills: ability to communicate professionally with customers, peers, and managers preferred
  • Desire to work in, and foster, a team environment preferred
