Job Overview:

The Email Marketing Operations Manager is responsible for managing and maintaining Astound's Cloud-Based Email Marketing Platform (Oracle Eloqua) - database structure, inbound/outbound data feeds, subscription centers, and data hygiene, partnering with cross-department teams; managing a library of automated customer journey emails (triggered & transactional), and supporting existing and implementing new fully-automated Customer Lifecycle programs. The Email Marketing Operations Manager will work closely with all members of the Email Marketing team, coordinate with larger Digital Marketing and Omni-Channel teams, as well as corporate and field marketing teams and vendors, as required, to provide excellent service to all internal stakeholders.

A Day in the Life of the Email Marketing Operations Manager:





    • Act as primary point of contact for email marketing campaigns assigned and work with internal stakeholders, including corporate and local marketing teams, in a consultative and production capacity for those campaigns.
    • Understand campaign goals and document major requirements, work on asset development, using an Email Template component Library (graphics and HTML code snippets) to ensure clear UX and design consistency within brand guidelines.
    • Partner with external vendors and other departments (IT, Data Warehouse, Billing, Operations, and more), to execute Email Marketing Automation strategy and its supporting tactics, according to the approved Annual and Quarterly Business Plans, to launch new or optimize existing fully automated Email Marketing programs - Customer Lifecycle Programs - for B2C and B2B organizations.
    • Manage and maintain Eloqua's relational (SQL) database, including its expansions/changes, ensuring data integrity and correct logical connections between relational tables, new inbound/outbound data feeds, up-to-date subscription centers, and regular data hygiene activities.
    • Develop templates and campaign canvas in Eloqua while taking a holistic approach to manage campaigns, build an appropriate audience segmentation, obtain approvals, deploy, and provide performance metrics.
    • Create, maintain and distribute various performance reports in Data-Visualization Software like Tableau, Looker Studio, and GA4.
    • Analyze performance of the Customer Lifecycle Programs and proactively bring up innovative ideas and actionable optimization steps to enhance marketing efficiencies to improve ROI.
    • Manage and maintain a library of automated customer journey emails (internal triggered and transactional), as well as partner with other Customer Journey stakeholders to help them manage specific product-related T&T emails, sent by 3rd party vendors.
    • Other duties as assigned.




What You Bring to the Table:

Education:



  • Bachelor's degree in Digital Marketing, Integrated Marketing, Business, Computer Science, Information Technologies, or related field.
  • Master's Degree in Business (MBA) or related field is strongly preferred.
  • PMI Certification is preferred.


Experience:



  • 3-5 years of direct Digital Marketing and specifically, Email/Digital Marketing Automation experience, developing end-to-end omni-channel Customer Lifecycle Automation programs for a mid- to large national brand.
  • 3+ years of experience with Statistics and Data-Visualization Software (Tableau, Looker Studio, GA4) is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience working with leading marketing automation platforms (e.g., Oracle Marketing Cloud, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, HubSpot, etc.) and their features and capabilities to build complex workflows and creating automated email sequences triggered by specific customer actions.
  • Prior experience with building automated data feeds between various siloed internal/external data sources and systems.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:



  • Strong Project Management (Asana), time management, collaboration and communication skills.
  • Basic image editing skills (Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Canva, etc.)
  • Ability to develop end-to-end automated programs, from conceptualizing/ideation to documentation development to a hands-on involvement in the build-out process and launch.
  • Highly proficient with SQL and have experience with Business Intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau).
  • Have a deep understanding of underlying principles and technical, as well as, contextual parameters influencing Email Deliverability (e.g., Sender's Score, email authentication, compliance, list quality, send volume and frequency, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of CAN SPAM, Privacy Policy, and ISP for email marketing and list management is preferred.
  • Proficient in the utilization of all the Microsoft Office Suite programs, including, but not limited to MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel.

Base Salary: The base salary range in NY, MD, DC, MA, IL, CA and WA for this position is $90,000 - $100,000, plus opportunities for bonus, benefits and commission, if applicable. The base pay range represents the low and high end of the hiring range for this job. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to relevant skills, experience, and capabilities. It is specific to NY, MD, DC, MA, IL, CA and WA and may not be applicable to other locations.
