Position Summary
The Senior Sourcing Specialist's primary role is to promote and implement tactical and strategic sourcing activities while proactively managing assigned commodities, supply base, and contract management. They construct RFx's and are responsible for negotiating products or services from strategic suppliers. Additionally, they oversee contract management processes to ensure compliance, mitigate risks, and maximize value. They are also responsible for establishing and maintaining supplier relationships to seek maximum value for the company, including total cost of ownership. This position reports to the Sourcing Manager and is based in downtown Houston, TX.Level and salary commensurate with experience.
Essential Job Functions
Lead contract management efforts, develop RFx documents, conduct data analysis, and negotiate contracts to ensure favorable terms, risk mitigation, and compliance. Oversee the entire contract lifecycle, from initial drafting to execution and renewal, while obtaining and evaluating quotations to support sourcing strategies and align with operational objectives for assigned commodities.Drive cost-saving initiatives through effective contract negotiations, innovative sourcing strategies, and enhanced supply chain management techniques, including target costing and supplier performance management. Ensure contracts maximize value, reduce risk, and support long-term business goals.
- Manage and administer contracts for exceptions, negotiate necessary changes, and support legal review processes emphasizing collaboration, transparency and integrity.
- Interpret complex requirements and develop compliant, competitive proposal inputs while managing and negotiating large Master Service Agreements and pricing contracts.
- Oversee data collection, storage, and analysis processes to maintain data integrity and accessibility, while developing and implementing data management strategies that align with organizational goals and improve decision-making.
- Identify and oversee new product development opportunities, integrating new business units into sourcing initiatives.
- Evaluate alternative proposals and determine the most effective strategies to achieve objectives.
- Select suppliers that meet required standards for quality, flexibility, reliability, and pricing for specified services and commodities.
- Engage in Supplier Relationship Management by conducting regular audits and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Maintain and update the Approved Supplier List (ASL) based on feedback from the business.
- Analyze market trends and monitor relevant indices for key business drivers to predict price fluctuations and potential market shortages.
- Demonstrated ability to foster a culture of continuous improvement, utilizing data-driven methodologies to enhance processes and drive operational excellence.
- Prepare periodic reports as required by management.
- Report non-conformances promptly and ensure follow-up until resolution.
- Perform additional duties as assigned based on the needs of the location or company.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related discipline.
- 10 years experience in Sourcing and Contract management.
- Proficient in Power BI and data analytics, with a strong ability to create insightful visualizations and reports that drive informed decision-making.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other relevant programs.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work effectively in a standard office environment, utilizing standard office equipment such as computers, copiers, and telephones; maintain focus despite interruptions; possess vision for reading printed materials and computer screens; and have the hearing and speech capabilities necessary for in-person and telephone communication.
