Overview:

The Sourcing Specialist will be responsible for securing high-quality metalworking, safety, and MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) products for the organization, ensuring that technical specifications, performance standards, and regulatory requirements are met. The role requires a combination of technical knowledge in industrial products, strategic sourcing skills, and supplier management to ensure that products are obtained from the most suitable suppliers at competitive prices while maintaining quality and compliance. The Sourcing Specialist will work closely with the Category Management Team to ensure sourcing activities align with overall business goals, support category strategy execution, and meet technical specifications and quality standards.

CORE RESPONSIBITLIES include the following and all other duties assigned:



  • Identify and source technical products related to metalworking, safety, and MRO, ensuring compliance with the company's specifications and quality standards.
  • Work closely with the sales teams to understand technical product requirements and ensure these are met through appropriate sourcing channels.
  • Assess and select suppliers capable of meeting the technical and quality requirements for specialized products in metalworking, safety, and MRO categories.
  • Ensure sourced products meet performance requirements, technical specifications, and compliance with applicable industry standards.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to the sales teams, assisting in identifying appropriate products and solutions to meet customer needs.
  • Work closely with the Category Management Team to ensure sourcing strategies are aligned with overall business goals and product category plans.
  • Align sourcing activities with the category management team's goals for cost reduction, product availability, supplier performance, and compliance.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new product releases, and innovations within the metalworking, safety, and MRO sectors.
  • All other duties as assigned.



EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES:



  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management within metalworking, safety, or MRO product categories.
  • Proven experience working with Category Management Teams, ensuring sourcing strategies are aligned with business objectives.
  • Strong technical acumen and the ability to translate complex product specifications and requirements into sourcing decisions.
  • In-depth knowledge of sourcing methodologies, supplier management, contract negotiation, and cost optimization strategies.
  • Experience sourcing technically complex products and working with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex sourcing challenges and propose effective solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Proactive and results-oriented, with a focus on driving efficiency and revenue.


Pay Range: $65,000 - $75,000

Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and, in some instances, may include education, skills, work experience and certifications. You may also be eligible to participate in an annual incentive bonus. An incentive bonus, if any, depends on various factors such as organizational performance.
