Summary of Position

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic intern to join the Supply Chain department. The intern will make significant contributions to 2 projects: 1) strategy for alternate raw materials and consumables used in our biologics manufacturing facility to enable better flexibility and responsiveness to supply chain bottlenecks, and 2) documentation of shelf life for improvement of our raw material management program. The intern will gain exposure to biologics manufacturing and learn the basics of supply chain.

Responsibilities and Job Duties



  • Collaborate with project team members to construct a database of existing primary and alternate part numbers and identify custom or single sourced materials.
  • Confirm with technical stakeholders that existing alternate part numbers are fit-for-purpose.
  • Assess and prioritize the most critical parts for which an alternate is needed.
  • Seek out, assess and recommend alternative solutions to de-risk custom or single sourced materials by evaluating available options taking into consideration technical requirements, lead times, cost.
  • Assist in revision of material specifications and shepherding them through the document revision and approval process.
  • Participate in team meetings and present recommendations to department management.


Minimum Qualifications

Education, Certifications & Experience

Rising Sophomore, Junior, or Senior, pursuing a Bachelor's in a relevant technical, scientific or business discipline.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time appropriately to meet project timelines and milestones.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to independently reach out to suppliers and vendors to obtain information.
  • Ability to be flexible and resourceful and work in a fast-paced business environment.
  • Strong technology skills, including proficiency in Excel and Word and ability to quickly learn new software.
  • Strong data analysis skills


Preferred Qualifications



  • An interest in biopharmaceutical manufacturing is preferred.
  • Project management skills


Additional Information

The hourly rate of pay for this position is $21.50. For non-exempt roles, and according to applicable regulations, there may be the possibility for overtime pay. Eligible intern employees may participate in the 401(k) plan with employer match and may receive the company holiday benefit if the holiday falls on a regularly scheduled workday. An intern will accrue one hour of sick leave for every 30 hours of working time. Interns are responsible for their own travel, housing, and living expenses.

The pay rate range is described in good faith, and the Company believes is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting depending on the candidate's experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other factors permitted by law. The Company may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and this range may be modified in the future. No amount is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned, vested, and determinable under the terms and conditions of the applicable policies and plans. The amount and availability of any bonus, commission, benefits, or any other form of compensation and benefits that are allocable to a particular employee remains in the Company's sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified at the Company's sole discretion, consistent with the law.
