Position Description

As a Senior Financial Analyst at our manufacturing company, you will play a critical role in partnering with the General Manager (GM) and functional leaders. Your responsibilities will include monitoring and analyzing financial performance to provide insights that ensure we meet our financial goals, driving improvements by collaborating with the GM and functional leaders to identify opportunities for financial enhancements and implement strategic initiatives, providing data-driven recommendations to enhance financial performance and support decision-making processes, and acting as a trusted business partner to the GM by providing financial expertise and guidance to drive business success.

This is a hybrid role out of Kalamazoo, MI with the expectation that this individual will work onsite four (4) days per week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate, accumulate, and analyze AbsolutAire financial data and KPIs for the vertical. Collaborate with the GM and Functional Managers at AbsolutAire to provide accurate reporting to HVAC Technologies FP&A.
  • Support the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Five-Year Plan (5YP) processes for AbsolutAire. Prepare and publish global timelines and ensure alignment with HVAC Technologies FP&A. Develop forecasting models for the P&L and Balance Sheet to provide critical insights and analysis into business performance and assist in compiling AbsolutAire presentations.
  • Consolidate monthly forecasts for AbsolutAire, including operating results of the vertical. Support the vertical's balance sheet forecast as appropriate. Analyze vertical P&L, working capital, and cash flow results in coordination with the vertical team. Report results to AbsolutAire leadership and HVAC Technologies.
  • Oversee the planning and forecasting of material, labor, overhead, and SG&A costs. Additionally, conduct working capital analysis for accounts receivable, inventory, and accounts payable with an emphasis on improvements to provide increasing cash flow to the corporation. Review monthly results, analyzing variances, and providing outlook on risks and opportunities.
  • Coordinate operational process improvements with the GM and HVAC Technologies Finance Director. These may include the standardization of processes, refinement of financial data, and improvement of analytical tools.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making to develop and implement financial strategies that align with the vertical's vision and its current and long-term business objectives.
  • Create and provide ad-hoc reports from Hyperion (HFM) as needed to support plans, forecasts, and variances.
Required Education & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Finance or Accounting
  • 4 or more years of experience in a manufacturing finance environment
  • A strong background in financial analysis and forecasting/planning techniques
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to collaborate and build relationships with other functional organizations.
  • Deep understanding of the P&L, Balance Sheet, and variance analysis
  • Attention to detail and a focus on accuracy while simultaneously being able to communicate high-level summaries.
  • Strong PC skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Hands-on experience with an integrated ERP system and a global consolidation system
