SUMMARY: Leads all product marketing and promotion initiatives in collaboration with campaign planning teams and leads. Serves as product lead on campaign task force in support of key launch titles. Trains and provides direction to team members. Works with department leadership to prepare divisional teams for successful product releases through strategic support, game demonstrations, product analysis, process establishment, documentation and ensuring consistent brand perception across all communication channels to ultimately drive sales and strengthen customer loyalty. DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
- Responsible for the strategic planning, execution & project management throughout the product launch process, and the aggregation and analysis of product strengths, weaknesses, uniqueness, and competitive analysis.
- Leverages strong product knowledge and data driven insights to influence and inform campaign strategy and tactics and make key decisions related to product launch campaigns.
- Leads presentations and provides feedback to teams at various levels across the organization, up to and including the executive leadership team.
- As a subject matter expert, provides direct leadership, guidance, and mentorship to other Product Experience team members, broader Product Development and Publishing staff, and Revenue, Marketing, and Consumer Experience teams, and junior staff as needed.
- Works and collaborates cross functionally with various stakeholders including Nintendo Company Ltd. (NCL), The Pokemon Company Int'l (TPCi), outside partners, internal teams, and media.
- Contributes to successful product marketing campaign launch activities by leveraging an in-depth knowledge of product experience
- Maintain annual marketing calendars, ensuring milestones are up-to-date and communicated to key stakeholders.
- Manage marketing budgets allocated to brand initiatives and track ROI.
- Arranging event logistics including scheduling, transportation, setup, and breakdown, and overseeing all aspects of the event on the day, including managing staff, addressing issues, and ensuring smooth execution.
- Conducting post-event evaluations to gather feedback, assess success, and identify areas for improvement.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of brand campaigns and make necessary adjustments.
- Monitors consumer reaction and PR effectiveness; provides analytical reports, and recommends a course correction, if needed.
- Contributes to game evaluations and summary reports of all solo and group evaluations with detailed analysis of game features, analyzing potential product strengths, weaknesses, uniqueness, market viability, and competitive analysis.
- Leads or contributes analysis and detailed development feedback on hardware, games, and services in development, as well as competitive hardware, software, services, and industry events.
- Contributes to product demonstrations to other departments and outside partners as needed and assigned.
- Supports production of advertising creative in the role of product expert and collaborates on selection of game assets for inclusion in final advertising.
- Bilingual proficiency in English/Japanese (spoken and written communication) is a plus.
SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of six to eight (6 to 8) years of related experience required.
- Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in own job family or field.
- Good game play skills and the ability to identify key selling points and marketing opportunities.
- Able to work on complex, highly visible, and confidential projects.
- Strong knowledge of Nintendo IP, franchise, and games, especially Pokemon.
- Excellent organization skills with acute attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work at the designated work location (onsite, hybrid, or remote).
- Strong public speaking, writing and presentation skills.
- Strong PC Skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, and MS Teams preferred).
- Familiarity with Japanese business practices.
- Undergraduate degree in Business or applicable field or equivalent combination of education and
experience. - Valid passport is required for international travel.
This position includes a base salary range of $137,000 - $246,500 annually, potential for a semi-annual discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.
