Second Shift Maintenance Supervisor

• Ensure adequate training of mechanics on shift.
• Assign, review and ensure proper completion of repair orders by all technicians, this will be done daily utilizing RTA and other tracking methods.
• Trains and assists Mechanics on methods for diagnosing and repairing vehicles and equipment.
• Work with maintenance manager to provide daily communications to operations on down trucks and operational needs.
• Work and train with maintenance manager on Waste Connections top shop program, and other compliance programs.
• Promote collaboration between and among personnel.
• Responsible to work with parts clerk daily to ensure technician needs are met.
• Communicates regularly with the District Maintenance Manager and all shop personnel, daily documented tailgates.
• Assists in monthly financial projections and annual budget responsibility will be assigned for certain lines of spending.
• Perform quality control inspection and work observations.
• Perform fleet inspections with operations team.
• Ensures adherence to the corporate safety program.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Must have excellent working knowledge of DOT compliance requirements.
• Must have ability to motivate staff to meet corp., region, division, and district objectives.
• Must have excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills.

Requirements:

• 3+ years mechanic experience with truck, light or heavy equipment maintenance and repair. (Waste industry experience desired)
• Ability to train and motivate staff a must.
• Knowledge of air brake, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Proficiency in vehicle and equipment diagnosis and repair.
