JOB SUMMARY: The Claims Coordinator is responsible for managing workers compensation, general liability, and auto crash claims. The Claims Coordinator will coordinate with superintendents, branch offices, insurance adjusters, brokers, nurse case managers, legal resources, and medical providers to effectively manage claims from inception to closure. The CC is responsible for helping Branch Managers and Field Superintendents understand the claim process by providing updates and suggestions of training to meet claims objectives. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Responsible for managing workers compensation, general liability, and auto claims from inception to closure.
- Monitor all injuries related to work accidents and driving accidents with the goal of promoting prevention of injuries, reducing frequency of injuries & facilitating timely reporting.
- Maintain the claims accurately and completely within the company's RMS System.
- Answer client (internal & external) questions to ensure understanding and satisfaction or refers them to the Director of Field Risk Management.
- Develop and maintain strong business relationships with internal and external customers.
- Identify and communicate with Director of Risk Management and our executive team, claims that have potential to have high exposure.
- Work with our Safety team to promote the company's AWAIR Program policies to ensure compliance with internal policies.
- Promote the company's Return to Work Program with branch offices and human resources department.
- Manage claims to ensure deductibles are not exceeded, expenses are in line with standard care guidelines, and claims are progressing efficiently towards closure.
- Develop strong working relationships with insurance brokers, insurance agents/adjusters, and medical providers to facilitate aggressive claims management.
- Report the previous week's status of claims and other relevant areas of responsibility and provide reports as requested.
- Manage claims administrators request for reserve adjustments and payments timely and in accordance with your authority level.
- Manage posting internal claim costs that are paid on claims not posted by claims administrator to accurately reflect cost on each claim.
- Manage processing invoices for approval (prefunding and internal payments) in a timely manner.
- Once established, assist in the maintenance of the guidelines for the processing incidents & claims.
- Adhere to all statutory and regulatory fair claims practices.

QUALIFICATIONS: The qualifications listed below are representative of the elements required to perform the job successfully; however, in some cases, an equivalent combination of Education, Training, Certifications and Experience may meet the job qualifications. Education, Training, Certifications:
- High school Diploma, or equivalent, required.
- Associate's or Bachelor's, preferred.
Experience, Knowledge, Skill Requirements:
- 5+ years of insurance claims experience, required.
- Experience with water damage claims and water remediation a Plus.
- Specialized experience in WC, Auto, and GL, strongly preferred.
Communication Skills:
- Must have the ability to effectively read, write and communicate in English with employees, customers, and board of directors. Many audiences must be considered, including alignment among multiple stakeholders.
- Bilingual (Spanish) a plus but not required.
Systems and Software Skills:
- Ability to operate a computer and use Microsoft Office, required.
Other Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record, required.
- Must be able to comply with Summit's Drug and Alcohol policy and Background screening requirements, which may also include customer specific requirements based on contractual agreement.
