Job Overview

The Stylist Resident participates in Macy's 2025 Photo Content Studio Summer Residency, an 8-week, full-time paid program. This role provides hands-on experience in all aspects of photo art direction and production. The resident works in person at Macy's Long Island City Photo and Content Studios. Please note that housing and transportation are not included.

What You Will Do

• Collaborate with both Fashion and Still Life Stylists during the summer residency.
• Support the execution of final content by assisting with styling and preparation.
• Assist stylists with tracking and prepping samples for photography sessions.
• Attend and actively participate in Style Out and Pre-production meetings.
• Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.
• In addition to the essential duties mentioned above, other duties may be assigned.

Skills You Will Need

Styling Expertise - Ability to prep, pin, steam, and press textiles, clothing, shoes, handbags, and accessories for photoshoots.

Self-Directed Work Ethic - Capable of working with minimal supervision and staying focused in a fast-paced environment.

Communication Skills - Strong verbal and written communication for effective collaboration in team settings.

Attention to Detail - Keen eye for detail, ensuring accuracy in sample tracking, styling, and preparation.

Time Management - Ability to work efficiently in a deadline-driven workplace while managing multiple tasks.

Team Collaboration - Experience working in a collaborative environment with stylists, photographers, and other team members.

Who You Are

• Candidates currently enrolled in an accredited four-year institution with a GPA of 3.0 or higher are encouraged to apply.
• This position requires heavy lifting, constant moving, remaining in a stationary position, and reaching with arms and hands. Involves remaining in a stationary position for at least two consecutive hours, lifting at least 30 lbs. stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders. May involve reaching above eye level. Requires close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
• Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
