Job Summary

Caltech seeks a research scientist to carry out an independent observational program in UV astrophysics, and to advise Caltech researchers on implementation approaches for small-scale space missions and projects.

Essential Job Duties

Provide leadership in:

  • Observational UV astrophysics.
  • Space mission and project implementation.
  • Making connections with industry partners for developing small space platforms.
Basic Qualifications
  • Ph.D. or equivalent along with 15 years' research experience.
  • Demonstrated skills in UV astronomy and space mission platforms.
  • Publication record indicating original contributions in astrophysics.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in non-traditional approaches to space mission development.

Hiring Range

$37,420- $85,000

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
