Job Summary Caltech seeks a research scientist to carry out an independent observational program in UV astrophysics, and to advise Caltech researchers on implementation approaches for small-scale space missions and projects. Essential Job Duties Provide leadership in: Observational UV astrophysics. Space mission and project implementation. Making connections with industry partners for developing small space platforms. Basic Qualifications Ph.D. or equivalent along with 15 years' research experience. Demonstrated skills in UV astronomy and space mission platforms. Publication record indicating original contributions in astrophysics. Preferred Qualifications Experience in non-traditional approaches to space mission development. Required Documents Resume. Hiring Range $37,420- $85,000 The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
