Postdoctoral Associate Required Qualifications: (as evidenced by an attached resume) Preferred Qualifications: Brief Description of Duties: The postdoctoral or research scientist position will focus on the measurement and fracture mechanics description of high-temperature failure and creep of refractory alloys such as vanadium and tungsten, as well as ultra-high temperature carbide ceramics. Specific scientific duties and responsibilities include: * Independent testing within fracture mechanics laboratory. * Fracture surface analysis and interpretation of failure * Fundamental understanding of materials science principles underlying fracture mechanics and creep. Applying this understanding to materials systems under study. Effective communication in scientific literature. * Maintaining a fracture and creep laboratory. Responsible for maintaining equipment and laboratory to ensure safe conduct of research. * Other duties as assigned.
