About Team / Role

WEX is in search of a self directed and curious-minded Financial Analyst to support the Fleet, Corporate Payments, and OTR lines of business. The Financial Analyst 2 plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely calculation and processing of sales commissions. This position requires a strong understanding of commission structures, data analysis, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and be able to effectively communicate with various stakeholders. This role will contribute to the efficiency and accuracy of the commission process, supporting the sales team and driving business success. This role will be responsible for maintaining and updating records in Forma.ai to ensure proper commissionable activity is captured at the correct time for the correct individuals.

How you'll make an impact

  • Commission Calculation and Processing:

    • Calculate and process sales commissions accurately, following established plans and schedules.

    • Review and validate sales data for accuracy and completeness.

    • Identify and resolve commission calculation discrepancies.

    • Prepare and distribute commission statements to sales representatives.

  • Data Analysis and Reporting:

    • Analyze commission data to identify trends, patterns, and potential issues.

    • Generate regular and ad-hoc commission reports for management and sales teams.

    • Develop and maintain commission dashboards and metrics.

    • Perform variance analysis to explain commission payout fluctuations.

    • Utilize Excel for commission modeling, calculation, and auditing.

    • Conduct ad-hoc analyses to address sales personnel commission concerns.

  • Commission Plan Administration:

    • Assist in implementing and administering commission plans.

    • Maintain accurate records of commission plans and documentation.

    • Support sales representatives with commission-related inquiries.

    • Collaborate with sales operations to ensure accurate sales crediting.

  • Process Improvement:

    • Master monthly processes for calculating payments and accruals.

    • Identify and recommend improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the commission process.

    • Document and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for commission processes.

    • Participate in system upgrades and implementations related to commission management.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Collaborate with sales, finance, and other departments to resolve commission issues.

    • Assist sales personnel in validating commission payment and accrual accuracy.

    • Collaborate with sales leadership and HR to create and modify commission plans.

    • Train and support sales representatives on commission policies and procedures.

    • Serve as a liaison between sales and finance on commission matters.

  • System Administration

    • Develop a deep understanding of data flows into Forma.ai.

    • Update Forma.ai with compensation plan changes.

    • Update Master Data Management tools with commissionable event changes.

  • Compliance:

    • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements for commission processing.

    • Participate in internal and external audits as needed.

Experience you'll bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • 2-4 years of experience in commission analysis, sales operations, or a related field.

  • Strong understanding of commission structures and calculations.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (including formulas and pivot tables).

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Effective time-management and prioritization skills to meet deadlines.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

  • Driven by curiosity; must be willing to question the status quo

  • Experience with Forma.ai or other commission calculation software (SAP Commission, Xactly, Varicent) is preferred.

  • Experience with SQL or other database query languages is preferred.

  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is preferred.

The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan.
