Overall Purpose

The Sr. Product Marketing Manager, Consumer role, reporting to the Senior Director of Brand and Consumer Marketing, is responsible for developing and evangelizing a deep understanding of our target consumer segment/s to inform all Product Marketing, Partner Marketing, Communications, Product Development and Sales efforts - advocate for the voice of the consumer to drive awareness and transactions.

Essential Functions

  • Leads development and execution of all consumer research efforts in partnership with Research and third-party vendor to continually optimize product positioning.

  • Derives key consumer insights from research and other inputs (i.e., competitive intelligence, partner inputs, etc.), package and socializes with relevant internal and external stakeholders.

  • Develops, manages and evangelizes consumer narrative/story; working with Communications and executive leaders as needed.

  • Develops and maintains consumer value proposition/s, messaging framework and guidelines.

  • Owns and evolves consumer journey maps, developing key messaging and marketing assets for each key touch point.

  • Develops consumer segmentation and needs assessment to identify gaps and opportunities in value proposition/s.

  • Partners with Product to ensure their research and roadmap focuses on the needs of our target consumer segment/s.

  • Partners with Product/UX to provide input into the consumer experience, copy/messaging, FAQs, etc.

  • Develops Go-to-Market (GTM) strategy and plans to launch new product features and capabilities and ensure market readiness across the ecosystem.

  • Partners with B2B and Merchant Marketing teams to provide input into the development of all B2B customer value propositions and messaging, ensuring consistency and making sure they have what they need to develop effective sales enablement assets and merchant campaigns, respectively.

  • Responsible for developing and managing websites in partnership with the Brand & Digital Marketing team.

  • Supports the company's commitment to risk management and protecting the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education and experience typically obtained through completion of a bachelor's degree.

  • Consumer-focused product marketer with 7 or more years demonstrated success in strategic thinking and leading cross-functional projects.

  • Research/data-driven individual with a natural curiosity in understanding our target consumer segment/s - turning data into insights, value props, messaging, etc.

  • Excellent communicator who is comfortable with a variety of audiences and modalities, but especially strong writing and editing skills.

  • Exceptional team player with proven ability to lead through influence and work effectively both independently and collaboratively within fast-paced, cross-functional teams.

  • Innovative and creative thinker, with track record for translating strategic thinking into actionable and measurable plans, clear KPIs and business results.

  • Highly effective interpersonal skills with ability to develop effective relationships and trust throughout all levels of the organization and with bank and merchant partners.

  • High level of personal and professional integrity, sensitivity and confidentiality.

  • Payments and/or banking experience is required, along with demonstrated project management skills.

  • Ability to work in start-up environment, under pressure and manage multiple assignments with concurrent deadlines.

  • Background and drug screen.

  • Experience working for a high growth organization.

  • Experience working directly with product teams.

  • Experience working in financial services for a regulated entity.

Physical Requirements

Working conditions consist of a normal office environment. Work is primarily sedentary and requires extensive use of a computer and involves sitting for periods of approximately four hours. Work may require occasional standing, walking, kneeling and reaching. Must be able to lift 10 pounds occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently. Requires visual acuity and dexterity to view, prepare, and manipulate documents and office equipment including personal computers. Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers.

The base pay scale for this position in:

Phoenix, AZ/ Chicago, IL in USD per year is: $125,000 - $145,000.
New York, NY/ San Francisco, CA in USD per year is: $145,000 - $165,000.
Additionally, candidates are eligible for a discretionary incentive plan and benefits.
