PAY RANGE: $165,000 - $180,000 / year
Compensation is determined based on your experience and qualifications.
In addition to base pay, you may be eligible for overtime, commission, performance-based increases, and bonuses.

PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

  • Provide leadership to Agronomy Associates and Crop Specialist in area territory for developing customers through effective marketing and sales initiatives to ensure company success and customer satisfaction. Manage and maintain good relationships between the customers to always ensure a positive brand image. Produce sound product knowledge for marketing and sales of crop inputs, such as fertilizer, crop protection pesticides, seed products, service income, technical services, and ag-finance programs to maximize profitable sales.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Supervises, leads, and develops the assigned Crop Specialist and Agronomy Associate team to successfully grow the company's business by providing leadership, setting performance expectations, providing feedback, and actively maintaining performance management standards.
  • Assists with the development and implementation of marketing plans, budgets and develop sales strategies that generate profitability and maximizing organic growth through key marketing activities.
  • Ensures profitable sales growth of assigned territory through target marketing, competitive analysis, risk management, and continual management, coaching, and evaluation of sales teams while ensuring compliance with government regulatory requirements, safety standards, and company policies and procedures.
  • Promotes Crop Specialist and customer engagement in implementing myFS Agronomy and MiField trials.
  • Collaborate with Agronomy Marketing Manager and other Area Agronomy Marketing and Sales Managers.
  • Provide value-added agronomic products, services, and recommendations to patrons and prospects.
  • Conducts regular patron meetings on product and technical information.
  • Establish sales objectives by projecting expected sales volume, forecasting, and developing sales quotas within the assigned area in alliance with other company areas.
  • Develop field sales action plans for area territory to facilitate a consistent and cohesive approach across the company with the directives from the Agronomy Marketing Manager.
  • Responsible for ensuring company credit policies and procedures are followed within the assigned product sales team.
  • Promotes cross-selling efforts between all department salespeople within the assigned territory.
  • Works directly with selected prospects and customers as needed to grow sales.
  • OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for completing and updating profile information sheets on all key accounts and targeted prosects.
  • Collects for sales of all assigned products according to company credit policy.
  • Attains and maintains technical and sales skills to certification standards.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Normally requires a Bachelors Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or the equivalent thereof, and/or prior work experience to demonstrate knowledge of basic spreadsheet functions and computer systems and programs.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of, or related work experience in, production agriculture or sales is preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all applicable training, permits, and certifications.

  • Proven professional communication and exceptional customer service skills and the ability to comprehend simple instructions and communicate one-on-one and in small groups with customers and other employees.
  • Demonstrated time management and basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, along with the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Proven ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment in a professional manner.
  • Understanding of basic computer skills as they relate to business.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a professional demeanor.

  • Other Requirements
  • Be able to obtain a valid CDL (Commercial Driver's License) with required endorsements (e.g., HazMat, Tanker) within six months of employment and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Must obtain and maintain applicable professional certifications associated with the agronomy industry (i.e., CCA, CCS, CPA).
  • Follow safety and compliance standards to help ensure their well-being and the safety of others.
  • Ability to work hours other than those considered normal at various times throughout the year to meet deadlines and demands.
  • The role may require occasional travel to other company locations or industry events, with the ability to travel independently and stay overnight as needed.
  • Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK's policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
