Job Duties: Associate, Credit Risk with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in Dallas, Texas. Assess the credit and financial strength of the firm's borrowers and counterparts across North American Natural Resource counterparties and Latin American counterparties by performing fundamental credit analysis using both quantitative and qualitative factors. Review and approve loan transactions, determine appetite and regulatory ratings, monitor credit trends in the portfolio. Analyze the credit implications of various financial transactions including debt, equity and hybrid offerings, mergers and acquisitions, restructuring and share repurchases. Coordinate with Global Banking and Markets (GBM), Legal, Operations and Compliance departments to approve derivatives business and ensure appropriate documentation, limits, and risk mitigants to protect against a counterpart default and minimize potential losses. Analyze the risks inherent in the products GS transacts, including lending, trading, and derivative products. Perform sector analysis regularly in order to assess portfolio concentration or trends. Monitor, manage and report exposures at a counterpart, product, and portfolio level.

Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Economics, Accounting, Business Administration or related field. Two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Prior experience must include two (2) years' experience with: applying concepts of credit risk and its components, including default risk, loss severity in the event of default and associated recovery rates; evaluating factors required for assigning a credit rating and assessing company's ability to make timely payments of interest and to repay debt; conducting comprehensive credit risk assessments to evaluate the creditworthiness of borrowers, counterparties, and financial instruments for Latin American clients; reviewing financial statements, company presentations and market reports for companies in Brazil and other parts of Latin America engaging with Latin American clients as needed; assessing a company's operating performance, capital structure, cash flow generation and consumption trends and financial prospects in order to ultimately define its intrinsic value; applying tools and techniques used in financial analysis, noting their uses and limitations and calculating and interpreting liquidity, solvency, leverage, and profitability rations as well as describing how these ratios interact with one another; adjust ratios for Latin American clients in line with local accounting practices; developing and implementing credit risk management strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure sound credit underwriting and monitoring practices and minimize losses; assessing credit risk models and methodologies to ensure accuracy, effectiveness, and compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices; navigating through the Federal Reserve Bank Shared National Credit ("SNC") program; and examining Commitment Papers and Credit Agreements including, the underlying transaction structure and the main credit terms involved for protecting the lender recovery prospects as well as reviewing trading documentation. Fluency in Portuguese is required to communicate with Brazilian clients.
