JOB SUMMARY
Works under general supervision to indoctrinate, train and supervise Public Safety Officers and safeguards UT Southwestern property.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required
- Education
High School Diploma Graduation from high school, vocational school or equivalent
Demonstrated ability to lead others; and
Prior experience in the security industry, demonstrating a strong understanding of security operations, emergency response, and risk management.
- Licenses and Certifications
Must possess a valid driver's license and be eligible to drive a University owned and/or leased motor vehicle upon hire
Must successfully pass a thorough background investigation upon hire
JOB DUTIES
- Trains and supervises the work of Public Safety Officer force. Prepares work assignments and schedules of the Public Safety Officer force.
- Responsible for security patrols on campus and responses to all calls not requiring the skills or authority of a police officer.
- Prepares employee evaluations and conducts development counseling.
- Maintains shift work schedules, reviews reports and recommends disciplinary actions.
- Provides service to students, employees, and visitors; writes reports.
- Patrols buildings and grounds to check for fires, water leaks, potential security and safety hazards and general building security, reporting all irregularities, emergencies, or suspicious activity.
- Provides directions to locate buildings and offices and other general information to visitors.
- Patrols buildings and grounds on foot or in vehicle to provide security and prevent crime.
- Writes reports on incidents occurring on campus. Performs other duties as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
