Position Highlights:

  • Position: Receptionist

  • Hourly Pay Range: $17.51 - $27.32. The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

  • Location: LOH Main Hospital- Naperville IL

  • Part time - 16 hrs/week

  • Hours: 6:00am-3:30pm

A Brief Overview:
The Receptionist will serve as the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and staff, playing a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of the hospital's front desk. Answers telephone calls and takes and relays messages. Typically performs related clerical duties including light typing, filing, sorting mail and photocopying.

What you will do:

  • Answers, responds to and routes incoming telephone calls within three rings. Initiates back-up system for crisis calls as needed. Provides routine information to callers and visitors. Assists persons seeking employment information in accessing Human Resources.

  • Greets and screens visitors, assuring they have signed the confidentiality statement and are given appropriate identification e.g. "Visitor stickers". Maintains an awareness of waiting guests and follows up with receiving department/person to assure the guest is cared for in a timely manner.

  • Signs for, receives and routes incoming mail, including courier deliveries.

  • Responds calmly in emergency situations, initiates the appropriate procedure needed for medical and/or psychiatric emergencies.

  • Maintains and distributes accurate phone lists of LOH employees and medical/allied staff.

  • Maintains documentation related to Resource and Referral calls, including back-up log.

  • Assists with Facilities ordering and problem-solving for employee pagers.

  • Assures the reception desk and lobby are maintained in an orderly manner at all times. Rapidly follows up on maintenance requests. Immediately reports any safety concerns.

  • Maintains a calm demeanor and voice tone, including but not limited to overhead paging, answering phone and/or paging codes.

  • Provides back-up clerical support to various departments within the hospital.

  • Supports the organization's safety and security program.

What you will need:

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Excellent telephone etiquette

Preferred Education and/or Experience:

  • A High School Diploma or GED

  • Ability to operate an AT&T System 25 or 75

  • Minimum one year of customer service experience
