Your Role

Are you ready to make an impact? As a Production Planner,you will play a pivotal role in shaping our organization's success. You will work closely with our dedicated teams to develop effective solutions that align with CPC's strategic goals. Summary: The Production Planner is responsible for planning and scheduling assigned products and manufacturing work cells to meet customer's needs and inventory objectives. This position will work closely and communicate with a variety of cross-functional teams in manufacturing and corporate positions to meet the business unit objectives.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Review, prioritize, schedule and expedite the delivery of material components with the appropriate buyer to meet target dates and prevent stock shortages.
  • Plan and collaborate to develop weekly production schedules to support customer demand ensuring high levels of delivery performance and optimization of resources.
  • Manage customer sales orders, communicate new ship dates for past due orders, review and approve sales orders expedites, and analyze open orders for revenue projections.
  • Optimize inventory investment to provide target service levels at lowest cost.
  • Effectively manage excess and obsolete inventories, disposition if required.
  • Create capacity reports, level load capacity, and identify and act on trade-offs in capacity between cells/zones for Business Unit.
  • Utilize reporting functions (including Excel, Power BI) to develop, maintain, and present capacity and schedule attainment for Business Unit.
  • Determine root cause and corrective action for scheduling issues that arise such as labor shortage, machine downtime, component availability, routing issues, etc.
  • Identify, initiate, and lead continuous improvement projects in planning and fulfillment department.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to support new product launches and operational improvement projects.
  • Work with operations on reporting production completions/attainment and changes required.
  • Own product line responsibility and on-time delivery.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field, preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in purchasing, production planning, or inventory management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), inventory management tools, and knowledgeable in ERP systems such as Oracle.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement.
  • APICS CPIM or CSCP certification preferred but not required.

  • Less than 5%

    • This range is the pay scale for this role in Minnesota. Individual compensation is based on skills, experience, and qualifications related to this position.
