Finance Sr Analyst - Enabling Functions

Job Description:

The Finance Sr Analyst - Enabling Functions (EF) will be part of the VMRD and Enabling Functions Finance team and will report to the Finance Director, Enabling Functions. The job responsibilities will consist of the following, but not limited to:

  • Monitoring, tracking, and reporting business performance across VMRD and EF with proactive identification of issues, opportunities, and challenges
  • Prepare regular and ad-hoc reporting; perform supporting analysis to explain underlying business dynamics and results
  • Coordinate, compile, and analyze financial data across VMRD and EF related to monthly close process, annual Operating Plan, and quarterly forecasts
  • Provide support to finance leads within our forecasting/budgeting tool (Anaplan) and ensure data is accurate
  • Support finance team with close processes including operating expense analysis, and preparing materials for financial review
  • Partner with Finance Director, EF and certain EF LT's (included but not limited to Legal, Strategic Functions, Human Medical) to derive insights into business performance, provide regular updates on performance, and coordinating budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Assist with required forecasts and Annual Operating Plan submission including report generation, template management, analysis of forecast submission
  • Support various VMRD and EF Finance cross-functional improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with existing and established company internal controls, and financial polices procedures

Educational requirements and job experience:

  • 2-5 years work experience in a corporation in a financial planning and analysis function
  • Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting or economics
  • MBA is a plus; CPA is a plus but not required

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management both written and verbally
  • Strong analytical background with strategic thinking capabilities with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction from supervisor
  • Solid understanding of financial planning and analysis, accounting, financial systems, and processes (SAP, Essbase, Anaplan)
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced, high-energy environment
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and able to organize and prioritize tasks with a good sense of time management
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and build collaborative relationships with peers and other stakeholders
  • Strong working knowledge of spreadsheet software (EXCEL) and PowerPoint
  • Experience with SQL and Power BI a plus
