Spectra Tech is looking for a EHS Specialist for Oakland, MS.

Job Description

The EHS Specialist is responsible for overseeing and implementing environmental, health, and safety programs within a food production facility, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, by conducting inspections, developing safety training programs, investigating incidents, and working to maintain a safe working environment for all employees, while prioritizing food safety practices throughout the production process. Monitoring adherence to local, state, and federal EHS regulations, including food safety standards like HACCP. Conducting regular facility inspections to identify potential hazards and non-compliance issues. Maintaining documentation and records related to safety incidents, inspections, and training. Collaborating with regulatory agencies during inspections.

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in environmental science, safety management, or a related field

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Knowledge of food safety regulations (HACCP, FDA, USDA) Understanding of OSHA standards and other relevant safety regulations Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train and interact with employees at all levels Ability to conduct thorough investigations and prepare detailed reports Experience working in a food manufacturing environment is preferred
