Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY

The Allied Therapy Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing group therapy and activity services for all psychiatric patients. This involves working in conjunction with all disciplines for the development and implementation of treatment goals as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team. The Coordinator is also responsible for the supervision and mentorship of the allied therapy staff under the direction of the Director of Clinical Services. The Coordinator is responsible for assisting the DCS in the enhancement of clinical programming, and ensuring requirements of outside and internal agencies are being met. The Coordinator will also assist with training needs of the hospital in coordination with other departments (i.e. nursing, MHT's) for the purpose of staff retention and enhancement of clinical knowledge and practice. The Coordinator will be required to provide therapeutic services as needed in order to meet compliance and clinical needs of the hospital.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Masters Degree from an accredited college or university in an allied/expressive arts therapy or psychology related field.

Experience: Three (3) years of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care and severe and persistent mental illness preferred. At least one year experience in supervision.

Licensure: Licensure and/or certification by state and/or national governing body in the respective field.

Additional Requirements: May be required to work overtime and flexible hours, and be on call for the department for the purpose of scheduling.
