The University of California Health Milk Bank was established to help support neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) and families in the region and the state. They do this by providing safe, pasteurized human milk that has been donated by breastfeeding parents. The University of California Health Milk Bank, operated by UC San Diego Health, is the second in California to be accredited by the Human Milk Banking Association of North America. It is the only milk bank in the nation that is part of a health care system. This position is for our new University of California Health Milk Bank that opened in the Spring of 2020. Our goals are to help mothers breastfeed, to improve breast milk donation and to ensure that all premature or ill babies in our region have access to donor milk. Learn more by clicking Here Under direct supervision, the Milk Bank Assistant supports the milk bank's daily operations by assisting in receiving, labeling, organizing, and storing donor human milk. The assistant ensures proper handling of milk donations, prepares shipments, and maintains cleanliness in the work environment. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and effective teamwork to support milk processing and distribution. Performs other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $60,844 - $75,606 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $29.14 - $36.21 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable). |
